Today's the 89th.birthday or Ruggero Ricci, the last (?)
surviver of the great violin virtuosi born in the first decades
of past century. Probably he did more recordings than any
other violinist (more than 500), and of dozens of unknown
and rare pieces. I admire him very much. Hope he would live
a hundred years. :) :)

Is Josef Suk dead?

I'm a great fan of Josef Suk.

Carlos, good to hear from you again! :)

I see you've taken a liking to the lovely Janine Jansen?

The new erato

I greatly appreciate the mention of Ricci - by which I have lot of LPs from the 60/70-ies - just thought that Josef Suk surely belongs in the same tradition as well, even if he is approx. 10 years younger.

Janine Jansen - just saw and heard her in Ravels Tzigane at the Risør festival.

BachQ

Any coins featuring Ruggero Ricci?

I don't suppose so.
