You can't 'Google Translate' expressions like these if you don't understand the idiom. That's why, and pretending doesn't help. Again, I see some similarities with your admiration for your President.  ;D

I can still use Google translate.  The result would likely be just as meaningful as your post(s).  I won't use Google translate, however.

You are confused about my outlook on Trump.

Jeff Flake's departure comes just as the Republican fundraising machine seems to be coalescing around conspiracy theorist weirdo state senator Kelli Ward, who was previously seen as the only viable option for holding on to the seat due to Flake's poor poll numbers against Democrat and actually qualified legislator Kyrsten Sinema. The ramifications of his retirement are a potentially more crowded Republican field and an interesting primary season to come. The only new potential name I recognize is Martha McSally, who may have enough name recognition to overcome Ward's early publicity lead, and who may not want to face another close race in her quite competitive house seat (which she won easily last year but is a top D target due to going 50-45 for Hillary). Might be fun.

Same, but it's kind of unlikely. They're even failing to hold on to the Virginia governorship it looks like. I guess we'll see how the R plan of backing the crazies goes in Alabama though.

I'm not sure the approach taken in Alabama will work in all other states.

Yes, yes, you've used variants of this vacuity before.

An appropriate response then to the same dumb policy recommendations.  Derp?

For people who support and defend militaristic US foreign policy in pursuit of a grand strategy of American primacy, I guess your latest post is quite potent.

That it is outstanding news.  That is why I wrote "outstanding" before.

Quote from: BasilValentine on October 24, 2017, 03:59:54 PMThat's really old news. It's been known since the first news of the dossier's existence.

Yet reputable news outlets all over the world are running it.

That's exactly the sort of reply I was expecting. Rather than offering a sincere and considered opinion you'd rather be a smirking little douche.

So let's try again: could you elaborate on that?

Then in the absence of any supporting argument I am unconvinced by your assessment. Or believe you did anything more than read the title.

Yes. ::) Try to catch up now, Todd: Reputable news outlets also ran it nine months ago. So smart and informed people wonder why republican legislators are now trying to pretend, presumably in an effort to dupe the stupid and the ignorant, that this information is of current interest. Those who have been paying attention are way beyond that — in fact, nine months beyond that. The original seekers of the research have already been deposed by the Mueller investigation. The dossier's author has been interviewed about it as well. What is of current interest, that from which this rehash has been designed to distract tiny American minds, is the dossier's as yet unbroken string of direct hits. Nothing in it has been proven false. Its major claims have been borne out. That, and the fact that these major claims will soon be the basis of indictments, beginning with Paul Manafort. They hope to discredit the basis of the indictments because they know they are coming.

Curious, the new story includes details that were not published before.  Even given its recent sloppiness and long-standing bias, AmPo is a more credible news source than you.  Plus, the timing is fun.  Fusion GPS execs took the Fifth last week.  That doesn't necessarily mean anything, but it doesn't have to.  All it has to do is ramp up political noise.

So let me get this straight – if the US sends 7000 troops to the continent of Africa, that means we're planning on taking over the world?

Wait, that might work...

http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/268192/american-soldiers-died-niger-because-obama-daniel-greenfield

It was Obama's policy to put American soldiers in harm's way without going on the offensive. And not just in Niger. American soldiers in Iraq and Syria were put in the same strange situation of being deployed in a war zone without a combat mission.  Except to defend themselves.

Or as Obama put it, "The recently deployed forces have deployed with weapons for the purpose of providing their own force protection and security."  They were supposed to be playing defense, not offense.

American soldiers died in Niger for the same reasons that Americans died in Benghazi. Both were fallout from the Arab Spring. It wasn't President Trump who deployed our soldiers to Niger. That was Obama's doing.

Congresswoman Wilson complained that they, "didn't have appropriate weapons where they were" and that "they had trucks that were not armored trucks." She is welcome to take up those objections with Obama.

This Daily Mirror headline and lead: Pregnant widow kisses coffin during funeral of US soldier as Donald Trump tweets abuse and goes golfing (again) The President continued a fight over his treatment of bereaved military families even as Sgt La David Johnson was laid to rest. It takes a tabloid...
Can we still be amazed? I'll say one thing for the guy: it's hard to imagine anyone topping him.

Sure, amazed at the sensationalist lows the media can go.
There is NOTHING anyone can say to those in deep grief that doesn't feel like a knife sticking in except, "I am sorry for your loss".  That's it.  Anything else with all the good intentions in the world can be taken the wrong way.
For the most part, Trump has had good reports from bereaved families over his concern for vets and those who died in battle.
Obama just golfed away or went on ridiculously expensive vacations with his family, not bothering to call anyone.
If a person chills out by swinging a golf club or tennis racket, it's usually considered what is needed to recharge the batteries. I don't think that recreational activities in the open air away from the desk could not be but beneficial.
That is the reason for a Sabbath every 7th day.
