As for perks etc. I will do my best...

We are incredibly fortunate to get to hear stuff before it's released so I can give you advance notice of good stuff coming out.

Thanks

Paul

The best 'perks' would be talking the company into some small discount on anything for any GMG member, members of other Music Fora as well.  This might be best arranged through the forum site and its moderators.

Too, another kind of very nice thank you would be that a small percent of profits from sales due to orders of forum members is contributed to the forum site to help keep it running.

None of the above proposals would at all break the bank, or make for a real hardship for the company.

You won't be spamming if you contribute as a regular, and informing of new releases through your company I would consider a 'regular' contribution because it happens to be something you know of via your work.  Maybe in your member quote area is the best place to discreetly place your position and the name of the business you work for.  That informs of the source, and honestly shows you might be a titch biased, lol.

Best regards.

The constant asking for discounts has now gone from a cute joke to genuinely annoying. Stop it. Presto is a business that deserves our support, and Paul isn't the CEO.

+1. CDs are cheap as it is. Bur advance information on coming releases and recording projects would be valuable.

Yep, it's not like he's our best friend and we hang out with him on the weekends. I hate it when people ask for discounts as if someone has the authority to issue a discount to begin with. I'm with you on this one, Brian.

Oh, and a bit belated now, but welcome aboard, Paul! I've made several orders with Presto over the years. You guys have a fantastic selection.

How exciting! Congratulations Paul.

Welcome (back) Paul, and congrats on the new gig. As others have noted, Presto has a good rep, both here and elsewhere.

So slightly on the topic of purchasing recordings, since there are many new members here, who may not be aware how GMG owner Rob Lang funds this forum: a few years ago Rob made a formal arrangement with Amazon.com. If you post a link to a recording (or any other merchandise) using the format below with Amazon's ASIN number shown with recording, you get the result with the small yellow "Click to Buy" flag. Then, whenever anyone clicks on that link, GMG gets a small portion of the proceeds. This applies to any merchandise on Amazon, not just recordings.

This procedure is not required -- you won't be run out of town if you choose not to use it -- but it is very helpful in keeping this place going.

Yes absolutely 100%, in fact I had you guys in mind when I mentioned that we could do something similar to this at my interview.

No guarantees of course but watch this space, I believe we should do more to engage with the community online.

Thanks for the tip, I will set some text in my quote area advising of my bias!

As I mentioned previously I believe we should do more to engage with online communities, so watch this space.

I have only just started so I don't want to rock the boat too much at the moment, but I mentioned it at my interview and I got the job so the idea must have had some merit!

Not yet Ha Ha! - seriously though I don't mind and as I have mentioned hopefully I can be a catalyst for more community engagement at Presto.

I think it was the followups that got out of hand.

Welcome to Paul BTW, I've been a satisfied customer for years.

Welcome. Presto is easily my favourite classical music shopping website. As I've said in an email to the store before, the hyperlinking and searching makes finding out what's available out there so  much easier than any other site I know. Cataloguing mistakes are rare, response times to messages are top notch, and it even shows my own currency and removes the VAT. One very satisfied repeat customer here.
Every single post on the forum is unnecessary. Including the ones that are interesting or useful.

Thanks for your kind words, and more importantly your custom  ;)

As I have mentioned previously, we really are passionate about what we do, and most of the team are amateur musicians (I am in a minority not being one)

Hopefully cataloging mistakes should become rarer still with me on the case!

If you spot any goofs, please let me know and I will fix them for you.

Thanks

Come to think of it I've bought quite a few CDs from Presto over the years - a very reliable company.

I've actually emailed to point out goofs a few times, and they've always been fixed quickly when pointed out.
