That's the one album of theirs that I have. I enjoy it, but I have a high tolerance for eccentricity.

Mine has evidently some way to go ;D

Apart from 'Ariel', which is actually a double album I have the Hounds of Love and The Red Shoes. I like all of these ones:
You've given me an idea Jeffrey, I have a male friend who is a serious Kate Bush fan (chasing down her LPs including ones from different countries).  I'll ask him whether or not I might borrow Ariel.   ;D

Hounds of Love is one my favorites of hers.  I also own:

Aspects of the Sensual World
The Dreaming
Hounds of Love
Love and Anger
Never for Ever
The Sensual World (special EP)
The Sensual World
and...The Red Shoes (hadn't listened to that in ages so now have it on)

Besides Ariel, not certain what else I might be missing?

Best wishes and stay cool,

PD

p.s.  Also, ages ago, I purchased a special (probably bootleg) album of her early homemade recordings or demos.

You're missing Lionheart?
Thanks!  My friend came over last night for burgers and a movie and brought over Aerial.  I believe that he said that there were three other ones?  I suspect that I passed on buying it originally due to comments from co-workers at the time, but will try and borrow those ones later from him.

And to give you an idea of how big of a fan he is of Ms. Bush, when I asked him whether or not he had something, he asked "Which format?" and then pulled it out!

So, Simon, do you have all of her LPs and/or CDs (or downloads these days)?

Peter Gabriel - So

Hi did you like this album Olivier?  I have it and have enjoyed it over the years (p.s.  Did you notice that you were given an additional bonus--a duet with Kate Bush?).

Directors Cut is the only one I've never owned. I've heard it but prefer those songs in their original versions. I've also never owned the big box sets so I don't have all the b-side stuff, though again I've borrowed it from friends.

I also played Lionheart again today and continue to feel it's a worthy follow up to the astonishing debut.

Even though i never listened to the albums before, "So" and "Us" are taking me into some familiar territory, one i had all but forgotten about until now. I had a VHS tape of a shortened version of Secret World Live recorded off the French TV ('95 most probably) and spent one summer playing a few tracks off it repeatedly. Obviously Sledgehammer and Don't give up were already impossible to avoid on the radio and TV as it was.. that VHS was also worn out at the time on "Steam", "Digging in the Dirt" "Come talk to me" and "In your eyes". it was also difficult not to be smitten by Paula Cole to be honest 0:)

Nice to (re)discover those tracks in the context of the albums themselves. The whole concert is on youtube as well. I might venture there again for nostalgia's sakes  :)

Playing Us as we speak.

It was only my first listen, and while some of the tracks didn't work for me, I am just in awe of her singing and how some songs just draw you in completely. In Search of Peter Pan, Wow, Oh England my Lionheart, Warm Room, Kashka from Baghdad are just amazing...  :o

Peter Gabriel - So

Peter Gabriel is a hit and miss artist for me. Many of his tracks are uninteresting for me, but the best tracks are pure magic. For example I don't care for "Sledgehammer", but "In Your Eyes" blows me away and even Rick Beato agrees with me!

Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Although Us isn't one if my favorite albums of his it has the incredible "Fourteen Black Paintings".

Agree that there's something deeply hypnotic about Paula Cole in the Secret World Live concert.

Have you heard the Passion album?

Thanks for the feedback Simon.  :) Did the b-side stuff make it onto her albums?  Sounds like not or very little?

No. The stuff that for example makes up the two bonus discs of the This Woman's Work box set don't duplicate anything on the six studio albums included, beyond a few remixes. They do however include the On Stage EP and the two tracks previously exclusive to the best of collection.

I assume your friend would have it?

She had an amazing voice in that concert. The way she made Don't Give Up her own was no mean feat. Just looking at a few minutes of that concert earlier, I had forgotten there was such a chemistry between PG and her, also how the whole band seemed really in sync and enjoying the hell of the show.

Not heard Passion. I still have to finish the chronology of the studio albums first (Up, scratch my Back, New Blood), I'll squeeze in Passion after that...and finish with "Plays Live" and finally "Secret World Live" to close the 25 years loop of that VHS tape  :)

Ah...dont think of Passion as merely a soundtrack album. It's a staggering achievement.
