Man, I could listen to this album all day...

His best!

(That was a bold statement.)

Whew, Trane with Monk is great, but Griffin with Monk is the best.

Indeed. Griffin is easily my favourite Monk sax player. It's also amazing how different his style can be away from Monk, so Monk clearly pushed him in a certain direction, and to that direction's extreme.

Those two Monk albums with Griffin are Monk's best.

My 2230 Marantz (1973?) just landed this afternoon.  Thought I would let some Crickets chirp on it to test it out in my workroom.  Two words: warm sound.

There will never be another era like the Golden Age of Hollywood.  We didn't know how to blow up buildings then so we had no choice but to tell great stories with great characters.-Ben Mankiewicz

Very nice, Bill!

Does your amp have air vents on the top to release heat? If so, it would be wise to not put your turntable on top of it.

It does, but I have had it going for a couple hours and it has remained cool to the touch.  I will see what I can do though.  My last amp did not seem to effect the turntable, but better safe than sorry.

Yeah, I personally would never cover the vents on an amp. Not worth the risk.  :)

My dad is great with wood....maybe some type of shelf to set on top.  Just a lift and barrier, if you will.

I'd ask over at SHMF, they would know what is safest.

Far milder than the afore-mentioned Griffin cuts, but always musical.

One day, I'd like to research the history of tribute albums to Lady Day.

I simply can't get enough of Fiona's music. I've built quite an extensive collection of contemporary female s&s recently but none of them hit the spot like she does. There is something about her music that is totally captivating  ::).

I hear ya, bro. It's cool, it's sexy, it's original, got great bass lines, confrontational lyrics, and accompanied by piano. She's got it all. And she's a Virgo.  8)

Me, I am once again amazed at how much more ass Zeppelin kicks live! Unbelievable!! My socks flew across the room.  ;D
