I thought this was worth its own thread, although it was discussed briefly elsewhere recently. Anyway, I just ordered this. I thought it was Membran, but it is some other label. I have always been happy with the Membran transfers, but we'll just have to wait on this one. I have a few of these on original Angel or RCA LP, but it will be great to finally have everything she recorded. The original LPs I am missing remain on my grail list. For anyone who is a fan of great violin playing, this material is a must. I think her Bach and Mozart are a little strange, but the Brahms especially is exceptional. Has anyone else ordered or listened to this?

It IS Membran, probably in its "Documents" guise ... music surely will be excellent (I mentioned in that other thread that I did spend big bucks on the South Korean edition ... which may or may not be the source for Membran (if it were, that would be illegal of course ... I don't trust these kinds of labels, but I have several of those boxes around, Kogan, Auclair, Lympany, Haas ...).

Interesting. I did not know about the S. Korean set. Is it all the same material as on here?

If you don't have the Membran Michelangeli sets, I highly recommend them. Sound quality is mediocre, as many of these were live performances/radio broadcasts, but IMO these performances put anything on DG to shame. In fact, my first exposure to Michelangeli was on DG, and I could not figure out what all the fuss was about. Then the Membran sets opened my eyes to the fact that he was a god.

Here's a detailed list of contents:
http://www.yesasia.com/us/gioconda-de-vito-the-complete-emi-recordings-10cd-korea-version/1033242901-0-0-0-en/info.html

Not sure what's on the Membran set exactly (they never provide infos in a useful way, not even if you buy those sets ... too bad, but I have a few, including the two ABM ones, though I'm still struggling to figure out what the fuss is all about, got to dig them up again some day).

I just see there is a new box dedicated to her on Scribendum ... went through its content list against the above link, the one difference is that new box has three versions of the Brahms concerto, while the Korean EMI set has only the third (1953 studio - not sure what the others, "1952 Live, 1941" are; I have one more, 1951 with Fricsay, that seems to be missing there again):

I see Scribendum has a new Konwitschny box, prob. surpassing/copying their previous sets dedicated to him, as well as a Rodzinski box ... hm. Would tend to prefer them over Membran (except for the licensed stuff Membran also does, mostly that seems to come under it's NCA/New Classical Adventure moniker), although documentation with Scribendum is similarly lacking.
