Okay time for the final round, and this time it is an ELIMINATION ROUND which has DIFFERENT RULES from the other games, so familialrise yourself with these ones:

All the pieces will be listed in alphabetical order with a starting total of 5 points

Now, what we have to do is:

- Take it in turns to +1 to one of the piece of our choosing and to either -2 of one of them or -1 on two of them.
- When a piece reaches 0 it is eliminated and then placed into the final rankings.
- The last piece standing after all have been eliminated and sorted into the final ranked list receives the number 1 spot.

Here is an example of how it would work in terms of elimination:

Person A

Berg - Kammerkonzert - 2 (+1)
Boulez - Le marteau sans maître - 1 (-1)
Brahms - Clarinet Trio in A minor, Op. 114 - 1 (-1)
.............................

Person B

Berg - Kammerkonzert - 0 (-2) ELIMINATED
Boulez - Le marteau sans maître - 2 (+1)
Brahms - Clarinet Trio in A minor, Op. 114 - 1

3. Berg - Kammerkonzert
...........................

Person C

Brahms - Clarinet Trio in A minor, Op. 114 - 2 (+1) WINNER

1. Brahms - Clarinet Trio in A minor, Op. 114

Boulez - Le marteau sans maître eliminated
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

Baron Scarpia

I think we are supposed to keep the ranked list of pieces eliminated as the final ranking. At least that's my interpretation of the posted rules.

That's what happens in games with negative votes - better get used to it.

I've seen it before, but the gleeful spite of others in putting down modernist music bothers me.  Can they actually remember a single bar of the damn thing, or did they just dismiss it without understanding?

I did not experience gleeful spite. I like the other Boulez piece better and don't like maître at all, so I figured best get it out of the way to avoid a split of the Boulez faction. Maybe that will backfire, since two piece would split the Boulez hater faction as well! :)

Do you know Le marteau well enough to remember any of it, though, or are you just going off of a recollection of a lack of enjoyment?

I remember there was singing. Does that get me a pass on the pop quiz? :)

The answer to all of your questions is: none of your business.  People are free to vote as they please, and should not have to answer to you or anyone else.

You are correct that people have the right to do what they want, and I agree.  Did I contest the result or say that the rules should be changed?

You might be described by a Yiddish speaker as a Nudnick.
