Iran is a country that is almost only negatively in the news. I personally really love the music from this country.
Here's a wonderful example that civilized people don't just live in the West.

Eimert - Epitaph Für Aikichi Kuboyama. A spoken text put through some terrifying tape editing processes.

I have luckily a lot of Iranian traditional music, especially with the Zarb which I love.
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

What I especially miss in our community is so clearly present here, being part of a culture that connects people, where there is not the personal but the common center, the fun and involvement dripping off. The traditional music is absent in our daily life and we all miss this feeling of sharing  wich gives so much deep satisfaction.

Great album!
