Nice! I own most of the Hungaroton releases of Bartók, but, interestingly enough I don't own that Kelemen/Kocsis recording. I must remedy that soon!

Indeed! The Kelemen/Kocsis is my favorite recording of those works. The performances are so intense and the sound is spectacular, particularly if you have an SACD player. I'm sure it sounds plenty good in RBCD sound, though.

Very nice. I'll try and track it down. 8) Thanks for your feedback!

I had heard both Martinů works previously, but it had been very long. The Novák genuinely qualifies for Maiden-Listen Monday and is a superb piece!

Tomaso Giovanni Albinoni.

CD 3 from 3.

Concerti a cinque, opus 9, 7-12.
Sinfonia.

Anthony Robson & Catherine Latham, Oboes.
Collegium Musicum 90, Simon Standage.

All in all a very fine set, and well recorded too.
"adding beauty to ugliness as a countermeasure to evil and destruction" that is my aim!

Johann Ludwig Krebs.

Complete Organ Works.
CD 9.

Felix Friedrichs plays on a Schramm organ, der Stadtkirche St. Otto zu Wechselburg.
Pitch: Chorton, Equal temperament.

I could not appreciate the vocal contributions of the choir at all, so I skipped them.

Hugo Alfven

Complete Symphonies & other Orchestral Works.
CD IV.
A legend of the Skerries.
Symphony No. 4 in C minor.

Royal Stockholm PO, Neeme Jarvi.

I do not see the sense of using a Soprano and Tenor in the symphony, for me it does not add anything, rather it comes as a odd one out situation. Funny decision Alfven made here.

Excellent choice, certainly in these uncertain times.

CD 11.
Concerto transcriptions by Walther from the composers, Albinoni, Blamont, Gentili, Gregori, Mancia, Meck.

Fine performances and very good sound to boot.

Spotted Horses

Roussel, Sinfonietta, Cluytens, Paris Conservatory Orchestra.

This is a wonderfully succinct, yet intense piece. Spirited performance, in good sound from the 1960's. Cluytens rarely disappoints.
