This gift arrived this week from Harry.

I've listened to the first 3 disc's so far which I've greatly enjoyed. Interesting to note that most of these choral works were not published untill '83...1983! So they are all unfamiliar, so far, and a joy to 'discover'. The artwork on the individual cd sleeves is also outstanding.

Thanks Harry  :)

You are welcome to it Chris, and I am glad you like the works. Me, I am not into choral works of that period. a capella work for 4 or 5 male voices, like Brahms composed they are okay with me, but the somewhat large scaled works from Mendelssohn simply proved to be to much for me... :)
Keep us posted about your impressions.

Andy my friend, I will send you the operas from Mozart on Monday, but without the boxes, protected in a envelop. That way they will arrive within 6 days.
You know how long a parcel would do, before it would reach you. After Christmas..... ;D

Harry, I've been meaning to tell you that, apart from much enjoying the music, Maria has enjoyed your choice of packing materials!  :)

O, dear, the household magazine Blokker if I am not mistaken, well yes that is the best way to pack them, and cheap too.
Tell her, she cannot order anything from that catalogue, only for domestic use...... ;D

I hope you didn't tell her: "Maria, the CDs are for me. The packing materials are for you!"

I have been sampling three or two Handel operas and oratorias that are in my possession. It looks bad for the operas, I really don't like them....
So all interested keep the thread on your radar, most of the time they are quickly gone...... ;D

Okay, my day is all downhill from this point. I actually read someone using the word "forfend" in a sentence.
