"DIC is not involved in any negotiations to buy Liverpool and is not planning a fresh bid for LFC or any other club."

As has been known for some time. DIC as the investment arm of Dubai, no longer see the acquisition as an investment, but as I stated above this looks like being the likely outcome:

"Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed could yet fund a takeover of the Reds, however.

The BBC understands Sheikh Mohammed is still keen on a takeover of the Merseyside club, although he would not utilise DIC in any negotiations."

After all with a name like RAD how could one not be happy supporting them?

You sure know how to pick 'em. Their supporters are small but viscious bunch, possibly the meanest around. Here is their web page, I think everything is in Serbian but picture gallery will suffice (Следећа means Next (page)).

Well the first thing I would say about this is that they need to hire someone who can establish some order -- I don't mean among the fans but the online pictures which seem to be spread randomly so shots from a single incident can be split across a dozen pages. Not helpful. Needless to say that I don't like that sort of violence at all. I do rather like the sort which has a comic side to it though, like in this picture:

which reminds me of the picture I use for my desktop:

though this one's pretty good too:

Note that the fans of Rad are smart enough to fight the cops, whereas the scousers are fighting each other  ;D

Well you know what senses of humour are like.......Nothing terribly funny about it, I just rather like the age on the left (Where's Waldo?), the, um, element of surprise coming in, and the fact that someone caught it moment on camera, which seems to happen with everything these days. Not sure what happened to the Getty images I posted, they don't seem to be showing. Anyway, c'est la vie.

A good weekend this weekend: Borussia Dortmund (BVB) against FC Schalke 04. THE Ruhrgebiets-Derby.
After 0:3, Dortmund achieved a 3:3 in the 89th minute with friendly help of the referee. This is great, because it's even more painful for the FC Gelsenkirchen folks.
The 3:3 on the objective ;) BVB net radio. Norbert Dickel is the speaker, he's an ex Dortmund player and now radio man and stadium announcer at the same time.

Last night's Champions League has been such an incredible goal fest! 6:3? 5:2? What a night to watch the glorious game! The "low scoring" games (3:0 ManU vs Celtics, etc.) are incredible games as well. I will have trouble finding enough time to watch all the replays today!

Walcott, there is only one Theo Walcott (continually repeat refrain)!

After his spectacular goal the whole stadium went silent, accept for the murmurrings of the few Arsenal supporters.

Aragones...retire! ;D

MISHUGINA

someone made this song in tribute of Totenham Hotspurs (sung to the tune of American Pie)

A long, long time ago,

I can still remember,

How the Carling Cup win made them smile,

And they knew this could be their chance,

To finally make that big advance,

And maybe, break the top 4 for a while.

But transfer windows made them shiver,

As Robbie Keane went off to Liver.....

Pool, and Berbs to Man U,

You can't believe it can you?

Tears of laughter we all cried,

As on Bent they have to rely,

And Frasier Campbell really tried,

The Day That Tottenham Died !

So my my kiss UEFA goodbye,

When Comoli sold the Goalie,

Well it made Levy Cry,

When you play for Spurs you kiss Capello goodbye,

Soon your gonna be a Magpie,

I bet you wish you were a Magpie.

Did your players eat the poisoned food,

To let Arsenal in and Spoil your mood,

If the fansite tells you so,

Do you believe in Chas n Dave,

Can their music save you from an early grave,

And can Dawson teach me how to run real slow,

Well, I knew you were set for a let down,

When the Spaniard signed the Blackburn clown,

You sacked poor Martin Jol,

And now everyone just laughs out loud,

I have long been laughing at your lack of luck,

Your delusion means I couldn't give a .....,

That to the table bottom you are stuck,

The day the Tottenham died,

I started singing........

So my my kiss UEFA goodbye,

When Comoli sold the goalie,

Well it made Levy cry,

When you play for Spurs you kiss Capello goodbye,

Soon your gonna be a Magpie,

I bet you wish you were a Magpie

Poor old Totteringham.

They do not deserve such ignominy. :-[

Well, it sure is the most entertaining show of the EPL this season!

St. Totteringham Day comes early this season for sure!

fight night!!!!!

Roy Jones Jr v Joe Calzaghe: Madison Square Garden, New York

Date: Saturday 8 November (0415 GMT Sunday)

Very very difficult one to call (might as well pump the fight up a little) but only a fool would bet against the dragon. Just hoping Jones doesn't suddenly shed 10 years for 1 night ::)

excellent fight, Joe cut him open badly in the 7th or 8th and it was all downhill for Jones from that point. 118-109, remains undefeated.

Very good.

Now that I have been persuaded into acquiring a satellite dish I have watched some of the greatest of games.

The revival of Totteringham back into Spurs under Harry-I-don't-know-how-he-does-it-but-they-should-bottle-it-Redknap at the Arse and, again, the recent magnificent win over Man. U by the Gunners. ;D ;D ;D

that was a great game of football, end-to-end and full flight. It's funny that that sort of high octane footballl tends to be produced only from either very bad sides or very very good sides. The space in the middle of the park at times was outrageous.

Good observation. In most sports, the best games are usually the ones where the two sides are of comparable quality. For me, some of the best games every season are the end of season relegation battles.

What's the deal with Dirk Kuyt this year? He's playing like a dream-team player. Surely this sort of luck cannot continue through to May.

Lucky I only sat through the second half of the Liverpool/Fulham game. That was absolute rubbish. Villa/ManU was a good intense scoreless game, the Chavs shouldn't have dropped 2 points, and Arsenal are now out of the top 4. That is your football round-up. Tonight is fight night!!!!!! Hatton in 4, that nouveau riche ponce has no chance against him.

Arsenal was awful. Liverpool was rubbish. ManU was OK and Chelsea did not score either. None of the so-called "Big Four" scored this weekend. Villa looked good. This season is turning into the most "interesting" season in the EPL in ages. No clear indications on either end of the table as December approaches. Vanessa is losing patience with Arsenal. But I find this season to be more interesting to follow in terms of the overall scheme of things.
