long-suffering? You've been suffering what, for 2 seasons? ;) Chelsea should win something agains oon. Seems the boss is getting a bit bored of the club though

Lethevich

I am surprised that Chelsea's lack of results with the pay-and-dominate plan hasn't discouraged other foolish rich people from buying up English clubs. They've done well but are very far from dominating their rivals despite all that cash influx.

Atm the positions of Man City owned by a seriously rich guy, and Man United owned by a guy in debt show quite well that existing talent is equally important to near-infinite supplies of money. Arsenal also seem to be doing fine near the top (if not challenging) despite being financial welterweights in comparison.

But whatever, as long as they're wasting their money in England rather than abroad, that is OK with me :P

Benitez 'rejects' new deal offer

I recall reading somewhere that Benitez in part ended falling out with his old club/chairman/owners over trying to take too much control. That may just be malicious drivel, but it would fit the part of someone who seems overly organised, i.e. a control freak. History repeating? He'll probably sign at some point though, but it's all a little silly

lol! good luck with the report. Does anyone even like Parry? I thought he was viewed as someone who gets in the way?

Meanwhile, Tottenham is spending big again. Buying back Defoe at more than double the price one year after selling him. buying Palacio for 14mil one year after Wigan bought him for 1mil. The soap opera at WHL never ceases to amaze.  ;)

No, the common consensus is that he is a complete tool and Gilletes lapdog. Rafa hates him.

"First reports of the "£100m" bid appeared on a website owned by Berlusconi."

That just about says it all  ::)

Liverpool: Reina, Carragher, Hyypia, Skrtel, Aurelio, Kuyt, Gerrard, Alonso, Riera, Keane, Torres.

Liverpool's best line-up? I'd say so. They should win tonight.

ezodisy

"[Keane] is expensive and high profile, yes. But Manchester United have bought plenty of players who cost £20m or more every single year. Sometimes more than one player. But nothing is said about them being left out," added Benitez.

lol! Again?

He'd win this:

great Australian Open final, can't believe Nadal could play like that after the 5 set semi final on Friday, bloody well deserved. Not a comfortable sight to see Federer break down in tears at the speech though.

An American by birth, I will be celebrating our national religious holiday today in the company of friends, most of whom are far more faithful worshippers than I, though they tolerate my apostasy.  We will intoxicate ourselves with the holy sacraments of chips and beer, writhe and shout feverishly when the spirit moves us (Are you blind, ref?  No way that was interference!), forgive our misguided brethern who root for the other side, and gaze raptly upon the 30-second messages of salvation.

A week from now most of us won't remember the score or even who played.  I don't even know who's in it this year, but I think I heard that Pittsbug is the AFC representative.

lol! nice pics.

but lucky lucky lucky with that red. That has got to be one of the worst decisions this season. Great result for Liverpool though.

One thing I will say is that if Keane gets shipped out during this window then it would be without doubt the worst case of man-management I've seen or heard of with a player. It is just absolutely ridiculous what's gone on with him.

Well, dunno' about the worst, I'm sure there's far worse that's occurred, but Rafa is being incredibly obstinate over this and highlighting the fact that he never wanted to pay the money for Keane in the first place - he wanted Barry.

Do have to feel sorry for Keane in the middle of all this though....

well I know he wanted Barry but I can't imagine he wouldn't have wanted Keane. He's hardly evne tried to accommodate the player. Okay maybe there are incidents of poor man-management equal to this, but I think this one will live long in the memory if Keane gets shipped out. Every manager has dud buys--some more than others *ahem*--but it's usual for the manager to at least try to shuffle the pack and get the guy into the team in a proper position. Rafa hasn't really done that. For Keane it would be best for his career to get the hell out

ezodisy

It seems Keane has understood that it just won't work out, which is a real shame because it was his childhood dream, the guy must feel real down about it. Not his fault obviously. Arsenal seem to have nailed down that smug little Russian c*nt.

ezodisy

lol!

Liverpool: Reina, Carragher, Skrtel, Agger, Dossena, Arbeloa, Mascherano, Aurelio, Babel, Ngog, Benayoun. Subs: Cavalieri, Hyypia, Torres, Riera, Alonso, Kuyt, El Zhar.

Over the past 6 weeks or more, Rafa has made Pool into his one man farcical comedy.

May it continue.

PS: He should have started El Zhar and Cavalieri Rusticana.
