Thanks, Manuel ! I have no idea what this choice of works has to do with New Years, but I suppose it's worth hearing, if only because the repertoire is relatively neglected by great orchestras (the Borodine symphony) or rarely recorded by the BPO (the rest).

Edit: I downloaded the whole thing but they remain as closed as oysters. How do you open them files ??

M forever

You have to join them with HJSplit.

That's right, the BP actually never recorded "Pictures at an Exhibition".

Assuming you mean the Berlin Philharmonic, ArkivMusic lists a Markevitch recording from 1953, a Karajan from '66, a Giulini 1990, and what appears to be a brand-new Abbado disc.

M forever

That Abbado disc is from the 90s. The BP also recorded this piece with Karajan in the mid-80s.

Schumann

They are both live recordings, the Schumann concerto is a recording of a radio broadcast from the concert, which took place in the Colón.

Then you probably don't have the right video codec for your media player. This video is xvid, so you should download and install that codec (which isn't difficult, usually you just download an installer package and ouble-click it). Or you could get the free VLC player from videolan.org . That plays pretty much everything out of the box.
