The new Mozart Edition is available for a tad under £175 at Amazon UK.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01FW8XWSG

A couple of days ago Amazon France advertised it for just under half this for a few hours. Orders were quickly cancelled on the grounds of a pricing error.

  Damn!! Even though i already own the Complete Philips Mozart Edition 1990-1991 original release I had no intention of buying this new Mozart 225 superset when it was at ~£300.... But now at £175 I am going to have a hard time resisting this!!

I have seen it reported that 70% of this new edition are different recordings to the original. Looked at another way is an overlap of just 30% an incentive to resist or capitulate?

Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

Thank you Harry. That 3 CD Jean Gilles set is very good, BTW!

Do you recommend it? Or what else from that Ligia sale do you guys recommend? I ordered the 10-disc French organ set because this was just to great a bargain to pass (and I don't know any of the music, maybe I like the organ stuff better than other French baroque) and the "Ecole du Nord" with Ablitzer because I liked his Buxtehude.

I was considering the disc with Carissimi oratorios (but there are actually quite a few alternatives starting with Gardiner) and the CPE Bach organ set. I am not too fond of Gilles most famous work, the Requiem, so I skipped his set and I also fear that 3 discs of Frescobaldi on harpsichord are too much of a good thing for me.

The CPE Bach I recommend, and the other recordings, well there are many recommendable, but I advice strongly to sample them. For what I like, is not necessarily what you like. The French organ set I had already, which is to my ears a good buy.

not at the low end of the bargain scale but it happens only at this time of the year
regional music from the Austrian Tyrol offered a half-price, and my recollection is that
they deduct VAT for shipments to outside the EU...

Oh super! Thanks for reminding us! Some very different composers here, and yes, they do subtract VAT (though it doesn't offset shipping entirely). Still, the music isn't easily found elsewhere...

www.qobuz.com is having a special december deal on a bunch of big name labels.  The discounts are in the 30-50% range.

This may be of interest to the digital buffs.

Of interest to me, certainly, as I've had a number of good deals from Qobuz.  Where on the site exactly are the discounts?  I can't see them on the main page (or anywhere else).
