It also boasts the power-crazed Ortrud of Rita Gorr, a swan-roasting, fire-eating sorceress. Her outbursts in the Second Act leaves one speechless.

Given that I do NOT have a Rosenkavalier  it was an easy decision.

I received an order confirmation. Let's see now if they make things right and actually ship it !

I ordered it. It says £11.31 but when I went to check out it was lower at 9.43£ and when converted to US dollors comes out to $16.08 including delivery to NYC. A no brainer. I can always sell it for more than that.

The only thing that has me a bit leery is the shipping time: 1 to 4 weeks. Quite a vague estimate, but, yes, a no-brainer, especially if you're looking for a quick Strauss opera fix.

Nothing to be embarrassed about, Ken. It's a great bargain for sure. I didn't buy it because I own too many performances from the set plus I don't really listen to much Strauss aside from the few works of his that I love.

I have always gotten my order from Amazon UK, as opposed to a Marketplace, with crazy prices like this. But even with MPs I got some crazy deals. The fabulous Abbado symphony box for under $25 shipped for instance. I expect to get it.

I saw the list of the selected recordings, and actually couldn´t identify any criteria, quality- or repertoire-wise. Except maybe it being for those building on a basic collection, with a few added peculiarities, for little cost:

I personally think that they have mis-priced this one, as it should £113.10, or something similar, so it could be a typo or a mis-entry, in which case they cancel it and say sorry.

However my order has been outstanding for a few days without cancellation, so we will have to wait and see...

Note that there are other retailers which take more care and don't make such elementary mistakes
