At the end of my order, it said 7,14 euro's which is rather steep, considering the purchase price, of about 26 euro's.
So i'll wait a little

Yes, you are right generally speaking, but -as Erato pointed out- in this particular case the cost is quite fair regarding a 19-CD set.

True but coming from JPC would be free of postal costs, and amazon UK would not ask that much money for shipping, although I ask myself how long it will take for this set to appear in my area. Well maybe I will order it after all. ;D

It's quite weird. The only place in the world where this set seems available it's the Italian Amazon. Additionally, the new name given to the collection (Le Sinfonie Complete) also seems a bit strange.

The Italian one has a different look David. The one you show we can find on all amazons, but the Italian one only in Italy, with this price tag.

The best additional info I could find was this, which implies it is an Italian release with possibly notes in Italian only: http://www.daringtodo.com/lang/it/2010/01/19/the-academy-of-ancient-music-esegue-le-sinfonie-di-mozart/. Perhaps someone who actually understands Italian will get more out of it than I do! :)

I read it, and you are right, only notes in Italian, the entire booklet.

For this you might want to consider another bargain EMI boxset: Composers in Person (22CDs) - €35 at amazot.it - http://www.amazon.it/Composers-Persons-Edizione-Francia-Compilation/dp/B001EX5CH8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320620718&sr=8-1

Thank you for letting me know of this set, looks great! Shall certainly consider it! :) I really do love listening to the composer conducting!

It turns out my order did go through, and Amazon.it has already shipped it, so I'll be able to report firsthand in due course.  Even with the shipping charge and the credit card transaction fee,  it will still be under $60 (depending on whatever the exchange rate turns out to be)--not much more than what the DG budget box of the Pinnock set is going for.  VAT exemption knocked about 5 Euros off the price.

And I guess I'll now have an opportunity to improve my Italian.

BTW, has anyone besides Erato and I ordered it yet.

I'm not sure if I ordered it or not--Amazon came up with a page in Italian that my opera-based Italian isn't up to translating.
It does turn out that shipping charges to the US are given as 14 euros, so it's not quite so super duper...

At 40 Euro, it is hardly any bargain compared with what I paid stateside last year.  I prefer the set to be an English version ...

35.75 Euros shipped to the US, to be precise. Current exchange rate for the Euro is 1.37 USD.  Tack on the Visa foreign charge, and it comes out almost exactly to $50.00.     Cheapest price for a new set on AmazonUS/Amazon MP is $86.99 US.  May not be a bargain compared to when you got it, but compared to current prices, it's certainly cheaper.

And since I generally consult liner notes only for dates and names,  the fact that this version will be in Italian won't be that much of a bother.

Came to 29 euros packed and shipped to Norway, certainly qualifies as a bargain. My brother (a very infrequent visitor to these pages) has ordered it too.
