I buy a lot on Amazon US, but not much from Amazon US.  I probably have got more from Amazon Italy than Amazon US.

But did you order from the UK?.  Perhaps they felt the shipping cost across the pond was too much.

No, I live in the US and ordered from Amazon US. I suppose we'll never know...

Hmmm.... ???

Typo time

I meant to say I buy much through Amazon MP and not that much from Amazon US itself.

Ah yes, the same here. Much cheaper in the long run.

They could have legitimately offered nothing...but there may be more to it.  I got it for the cheap price, and I remember at least one other person here, possibly more than that, also got it. So if they honored the price for us, why not you?

Very strange as to why Will didn't get his Handel set.  Amazon US shipped to me in England for under £20.  They can not have made a bean on that sale.  You would think they would honour States customer orders, wouldn't you?

Yeah, I got my five dollar wallop to the chops, too. Would have rather had Handel. Amazon is not my favorite internet vendor, right now. And going into the Christmas buying season, that's not good -- for them.

I truly think the answer to the question as to who got the Handel set and who did not revolves around when you ordered it. I ordered mine September 9 and all the reviews I read of people who got theirs were ordered before September 9. Guess better late than never doesn't apply. Too bad for me, as I was looking forward to getting my hands on it.

I ordered mine August 5, received it two months later.

I am again dissatisfied with them. Ordered three books direct from then on Nov. 5 because their price was a bit less than ordering from Marketplace, once I hit the free shipping threshold.  All three were in stock.  They are finally shipping them today, Nov. 11, but haven't sent the confirmation yet.

I am in no hurry for them,  but to wait a week?

I too ordered on August 5 and got it October 9.

I ordered the Handel on July 30 and received it in early October.  I'm still waiting for the Michel Plasson French Opera EMI set that I ordered on German Amazon also in late July.  Got it for 19 Euros and currently selling for 90 Euros.  The website consistently states that the set is out of stock.

Not sure if this actually qualifies as a SDCB, but for American purchasers, an Amazon MP seller has the Sony Classical Julliard SQ/Mozart 6-CD set for $12.20 + shipping. That's quite a bit less than other sellers for a set that has, I believe, already gone out of print.

Just noticed that the Karajan Symphony Edition is free for streaming for Amazon Prime members. Not a bad deal! :)

On JPC de there is a sale of the label K. 617. There are a few fine bargains to be had, starting at prices from 5,99 euros to 9 euros for 3 CD'S. Be quick about it, these sales can stop within a short time.

This was an email from Barnes and Noble.
Pricing is variable there, so any item may be a bargain, or not.

Belated thanks for that alert - got a shipping notice for a small order that includes two of the items from that sale (Campra's Requiem and the three disc Versailles set, the later a true SDCB I guess, at around 8€).

Does anyone know if Amazon Germany started their yearly classical music deals which are only valid for a few hours. I cannot find it.

they have started ("cyber monday") but there is no category for classical. One has to search through the general category "music" I think.
