This is a thread where we can all thank Rob for setting up the new forum.

Rob - thanks for all of your time & efforts; as we've discussed in a few PMs, you know my son does this for a living (meaning it is a 'full time' job for him!), so we all do appreciate your dedication in keeping this forum 'up & going' - Dave  :D

Thank you Rob....now without so many crashes, you should have more time for:

Danke, danke, danke! You are a star Rob.  :) We all thank you for the hard work, blood, sweat and tears you have put into the old forum and hopefully there will be far less headaches with this new one. Keep up the sterling work.  8)

Rob, it's all very, very much appreciated!
The opportunity you provide - by running the forum -  to communicate with other lovers of classical music means a great deal to me.

Thank you. :)

Rob, your dedication and commitment are much, much appreciated.  You have made GMG one of the best classical music sites on the Internet, which is saying something.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the new board will be stable, and prevent many of the previous headaches.  Thanks a million.

The same sentiments from me.     I always use GMG before buying anything, and I've also learnt a lot from others on the board.

I hate to say anything negative, but I'm a bit disappointed that with the new board the opportunity was not taken to list the postings in the order of most recent first.       It would have saved a lot of clicking and scrolling when looking for the latest replies to active threads.

Just a suggestion ....... GMG is well worth the slight additional effort to follow the various threads.

Best wishes, and thanks

Well that's not the point here Alkan "catching" up, but you will in time.

GMG has this (hidden) functionality.  Try all of these links and see if it suits you better.

http://www.good-music-guide.com/community/index.php?action=recent
List all new posts, most recent first. (I think this is what you wanted.)

http://www.good-music-guide.com/community/index.php?action=unread
Show all threads with unread posts.

http://www.good-music-guide.com/community/index.php?action=unreadreplies
Show all threads on which you have participated with unread posts.

Also remember that if you click the button directly after thread titles, you will be taken to the first unread post in that thread.

And, if you so desire, you can make GMG display the posts in each thread with the newest first.  Go to Profile -> Look and Layout Preferences, check Show most recent posts at the top., and click Save.

I hope this makes GMG work better for you.
