Simple question a simple answer, but only count your classical ones.

I've got 500. Not bad for three years of listening, one of which was spent without a single purchase and only a few minutes of listening...

Now come on, how many do you have Harry? :)

Somewhat in excess of 2000. My purchase rate has, unfortunately, slowed down in recent years.

If I am not mistaken Harry has about 7000 CDs.  :o

I have about 750 classical CDs when the 170 CDs Mozart box is calculated as 170 separate discs.
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Not quite sure, somewhere betwen 1000 and 1500 I would think.

I have about 3000-3500 CD's and about 1000 LP's (but not room for a record player nowadays  :'(). A lot of it is not classical music (maybe I have 1000 classical CD's). I listen to most genres as long as it is good.

I have somewhere between 5,000 and 6,000, thanks to this Den of Iniquity;D

The last time I counted was about a year ago; had over 9,000.  Big collections of Bach, Beethoven, Handel, Mozart, Chopin and Schumann along with most of the discography of Scriabin and Zemlinsky.

Concentrating most now on Bruckner, Mahler, Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky.  It's that Germanic/Russian collaboration.

About 2600 currently, 2400 or so classical, with the rest being mostly jazz, and 120 LPs.

I donate half a truck load of CDs, LPs and videos to the Los Angeles Children's Chorus before I left US to come back to China. I have no idea how much I had back then.

Don

Forgot to mention that I do have 2 non-classical cds:  Don Fagen's Nightfly and a Richard Thompson one titled "Shoot out the Lights".  The Thompson, as far as I'm concerned, is the best rock recording ever made.

This would make a nice poll.

I need to count when I get home, for I'm like Michael McDonald when it comes to this topic. (I keep forgettin'...

Several members of an alt country group I belong to would agree with you. I've never gotten into Thompson's music aside from his work with Fairport Convention, but the critical consensus says I should.

I have exactly 7008 cd's.
Don however has about 9000, or even more! :o
That makes him the biggest purchaser, and not me.
That's settled than! ;D
Finally I can rock and roll, finally..................

Maybe, however, you purchased yours in a shorter time frame and, some of his were free, I think. Maybe you have purchased more.

Okay, but I started collecting in the late 1980's, so that's about 20 years.  You likely acquire more per year than I do.

Nothing wrong with free cds.  I just use my creative juices to get them.

Well yes that could be true. :-\

I collect cd's from 1982 till now, but the latter two years, huge amounts of cd's were streaming in.

Two suggestions:

1.  Find some classical buddies who buy big-time.
2.  Become a reviewer and get paid in plastic.
