Hollywood

We had our first snow here in Vienna last Sunday 23 November. It didn't stick around long since it was all gone by Monday morning (thank god!).

Diletante

Well, it's spring down here in the Southern Hemisphere. It's a clear day: the sun is shining, the birds are chirping...  :)

We never get snow in my city. The lowest the temperature gets is around 10 ºC.

Are those of you who live in the North Eastern States of the US all right??

Reading reports of an Ice Storm which has brought chaos in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and New York State with disruption to powr supplies and transport networks.

Best wishes from a damp United Kingdom :)

The coldest day so far here, its 50F/10C and I'm even wearing a sweater. I think 50 is where I decide to put a sweater on, any warmer and I can go without it. Not that I'd die if I didn't wear a sweater right now but meh...I tend to hate extra layers of clothes, specially if you put it on and get hot later then you have to take it off and then what? Carry it around? I lived in the east coast for awhile and there was a really cold week, around 5F and I dressed up in a shirt, thin sweater, jacket, and scarf, went out and eventually inside a library where the heat was on to high and well its just terrible, either sweat or start stripping. To avoid the problem I just created a rule for myself, if its over 55 I can go out in a shirt, between 32 and 50 I would wear a sweater and under that a jacket.

Still no snow here in Vienna but the rest of Austria is covered with tons of the stuff. Today the temps are suppose to reach 10°C (50°F) in Vienna. I wonder if we will have a white Xmas or not this year.

Please return soon, Karl, and tell us that you are ok in Boston!! :)

A pm from Karl indicates that Boston has missed the worst of the Ice Storm :)

New Hampshire appears to be badly hit though. Don't we have members up there?

I don't know about members in New Hampshire, but Andy lives in neighboring Vermont.  :-\

Yeah but it's probably 41 f in Perth Scotland during summer too. It gets to be 41 f maybe for 2 night out of the whole year here. You get accustomed to weather, if it were 30 f everyday then you wouldnt think so much of it.

No...it does get a BIT warmer here in summer time, I promise you ;D We do get days when the temperature is in the 70s in summer.

It sounds like paradise...I really want to live in Scotland one day, I hate when its really hot in summer. And it doesn't get so bad in winter either right?

We have had one night's snowfall here this winter so far. Perth is sheltered from all the worst weather. We seldom get more than two or three days of snow a year. Thirty or forty miles north of here-as you enter the Scottish Highlands- it can be a different story.

It does rain quite a lot though!!

Mozart

I love rain, makes stuff green and keeps the air smelling good. Any problems with Scotland? Yes I know come married...but besides that?
