Well, depends on your job, in part -  :D  I interpret abdominal images, and any measurements stated are always metric!  8)

Scientific disciplines generally use metric, commercial enterprises use mostly English measures.

I must have just missed that. I was singing Handel at a church near Bank station today. When we came out at 2pm, it was raining with some white stuff in there, but not lying white at all on the ground.

It was however real whiteout near Birmingham, my wife drove back from there and it was getting thick on the ground. I can't recall snow in October.

Swans that normally fly here from Siberia have stayed there, because their climate has become warmer. Why shag yourself out with all that flapping if you can stay where you are and be comfy?

What a world of gammon and spinach!

So that's not London today! I am almost disappointed. I was packing my snow shoes for tomorrow.

We are supposed to get the first dusting of snow tonight in Beijing. But because the temperature is still relatively high (-2C, or 28F), it will probably more like rain plus snow, making for a muddy mess instead of a white morn.

It's unseasonably cold in NY.

30 degrees F (feels like 21 F)
That's -1 degree C (feels like -6C)

It's going to be a long winter.  :(

Is 3 to 7 inches alot? The only time I was in snow, well I saw flurries, but a snow storm it snowed 6 inches. It was enough to throw snowballs but not enough to make a snow sculpture of myself.

We've had a long summer here...and now its cooling off. Might get rain even!

Get the Sylvia DVD with Darcey Bussel and knock yourself out.

Anne, I remember my first year in SE Michigan, the temperature dropped on Halloween and it was snowsville from Oct 30 till May 15.

BTW winter has started unusually early in the Netherlands, too, this year.

Anne

October 30 to May 15 is just too much!  I remember when my newborn sister was brought home from the hospital on May 15, it was snowing then also.  Usually we do not have snow that late in the springtime.

Usually we'll get snow in the fall but it often melts and the first snow that stays for the winter often comes on Christmas Eve or Christmas night.  People here do not want a green Christmas.   :D
