I, like Nigel Wilkinson, don't bother with classical most of the time anymore.

I listen to a few faves here and there, but am too busy to worry about anything else.

Classical music is for the sedentary.

Whatchoo talkin' about, Willis?!  What is an example of music NOT for the sedentary then?

Are having a case of "musical acedia"?  :P

Maybe you need to listen to some P.O.M.TM  >:D

There is almost certainly a disproportionate number of overweight people here, with crap hearts, ugly wifes and girlfriends if at all, and the social skills of a bread bin, that sit about and do nothing except listen to 'profound music' to make up for their otherwise boring lives.

Hmmm. And how do you know all this? have you been spying on our homes, taking notes on who's a bit plump and who's got the ugliest wife? Are we all supposed to be impressed by your sneering put-downs, as if by implication you lead a life thrillingly opposite to all the traits you pretend to find among the membership?

I assure you, for example, that I do more than sit about and listen to 'profound music.' Sometimes I sit about and read. Sometime I sit about and watch the (as you would say) telly.

methinks thou shouldest learn to correctly spell the plural of 'wife'.
i'll increase my earlier challenge and compare wives, social skills, weight, hearts, and ecletic tastes in music w/you.

No need to project. :)

Even if it was true, it doesn't prove that "listening to profound music" has something wrong in it.

In my case I work, I have a very demanding job but otherwise I keep a quiet life, not boring at all. No ugly wife, just a very nice and intelligent girlfriend, some friends and ... myself.

But again, what is the the relation between all this and that "profound music" that you seem to despise?
