Well, fuck.

If anyone was curious as to how this thing, which is obviously wrong, could be true, but not enough to click on the link... it is not glass. The headline is misleading. It is the painted bottlecaps.

Thanks, yes I've read about it.

By the way (to the moderators), isn't/ aren't certain words banned here?

From The New Yorker:

How Music Criticism Lost Its Edge: Music writers were once known for being much crankier than the average listener. What happened?

The too long, sometimes tepid piece is about pop/rock criticism, but clearly the author is on to something.  I was clearly far too kind to Riccardo Schwartz, and as such, if/when I do any future surveys beyond those I've already completed, I think I shall endeavor to be nasty without limit if warranted.  It will be liberating.  I refuse to be Pitchforked.

This story melted my heart:  a resident in an apartment building noticed an elderly couple going for walks around the building every morning and they set up a snack area for them (complete with things like coconut water and various snacks); they appreciated it.

It's apparently on TikTok.

I was initially excited but then disappointed by what those 5 discs are. One disc is a "remaster" of the released album, which I don't understand as it has such a distinct lo-fi audio signature. A second disc is a concert of all the Nebraska album songs that comes not from the early 80s but from a recent show. A third disc is a blu-ray of that same concert.

But the big disappointment is only one cd of demos of unreleased songs, when from what I've read and heard could have been a large set just on their own. And four of the merely nine songs we get here are familiar from either Born In The USA, "Working On The Highway", "Downbound Train" and its title track or as given to another artist, "Pink Cadillac".

If they release the electric sessions from 82 on their own I'd buy it.
