D' you still think about them?

I'll start- her name was Kirsten, one of the most if not the most beautiful girls I've ever seen even 20 years later, and a ravishing personality to match. Gave me my chances and I failed them even without knowing it; phoned her up twice, but my thinking in those days was all wrong. Great name too I always thought.

This reminds me of a Zen story.

Two monks were walking through a forest. Arriving at a river bank they met a young woman who asked them to help her cross the river. One of the monks said he vowed never to touch a woman and so he couldn't help. The other took her in his arms and the three of them crossed the river. On the other bank the monk put the woman down and the monks followed their way. After an hour or so, the other monk asked: "Why did you touch that woman? She could have been helped by anyone else." The monk replied: "Brother, I put the woman down and left her there. But you are still carrying her in your mind."
"Great music is that which penetrates the ear with facility and leaves the memory with difficulty. Magical music never leaves the memory." — Thomas Beecham

I've always liked that story.

Mine was a majorette named Christi.  We were both shy people though, and it never went further than some smiles and flirting.

Let me guess, she looked just like Hilary Hahn.

With some diligence, we have located this picture of Christi the majorette:

hey, anyone who has myspace- you know how when people post pictures now, you see them on the front page?

I just saw this today- the girl on the right has to be one of the hottest i've ever seen (maybe even the hottest i can think of now!)

they might be sisters...... every else think so?

oh well, at least now i don't take girls seriously anymore since there is stuff I need MUCH more in life, and whatever stupid crushes I had in the past I can laugh at now, since none of it was really necessary.......

I do...no further comment.

Actually Christi was a blonde, but I wonder if Hilary counts as a schoolgirl crush.  Even though I didn't attend the Curtis Institute I've admired her since she was there.

Greg, there's nothing to be ashamed of having high school crushes. Everyone has the same strong feelings towards the opposite sex which may not mean THAT much, but usual end up becoming a large part of your thoughts anyway. At least, I think so.

Well it just happens to be his way to forget about his high school crush ;) Here is his thought process "Mahler is excellent and girls well yeah i like them but they suck so screw them I just need Mahler" In truth, it's easy to tell this is a lie.

Just curious though, why were the playboy bunnies sluts, and those girls not?

No.  But then, I've always tended to prefer older women.   8)

Thanks folks, some interesting replies there; love/sex is deep stuff, and there's no reason why earlier encounters may not be/ not have been the most significant (my Kirsten was awsome).

Greg, no way, have you been to the opticians lately?

Someone once said: good girls are just bad girls who haven't gotten caught yet.

Type implication of school girl crush is that you are a school boy.  Congratulations, you are now more creepy than Sean.   :P

Ahhh an Italian exchange student. She was gorgeous with the best accent. She was a friend, never a romantic affair. And though at the time i really wanted it to be "more than it was" i am kind of glad it stayed where it was. "What could be" is some times better than "what was." I will admit i still have thing for european women and i am afraid it will never shake that.

Why don't you move to Europe, then?

One day i plan to. A small house in a small Italian town a little ways of the coast. Some peace in quiet to compose, as well as some beautiful scenery to inspire. Eat incredible food and learn the gorgeous language. And then meet a olive skinned women, settle down and have some kids.

My life, if only in a dream.
