ROUND 1

You know how to play by now. Pick three albums you want stricken from the Rolling Stone magazine top twenty album list when compared to the others. We play until there is only one left--the winner!

If you need to know the artists who made these albums, here's a link (and why are you playing? heehee):

rolling stone

You have two days for this first round.

Here's a question: What do you think of their top twenty?

DavidRoss

Ah--this is The Rolling Stone top 20.  WTF is Kind of Blue doing in there?  That's like putting a 1966 Goat among a flock of Priuses.

For elimination:

Sun Sessions
Nevermind
Thriller

Kullervo

You didn't have to say it was Rolling Stone's list. The list itself makes that pretty obvious.  ::)  ;)

London Calling (Who over the age of 15 cares about the Clash?)
Nevermind (See above)
Born to Run (Always hated Springsteen)

Boo..boo!!! Don, as one of the certifiable Old Farts on this forum (along with me) I can't believe you did that!

Sarge
the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Thiller (some may have noticed it was the one recording I actually threw into the trash)

The White Album (I'm not a fan of the late Beatles although I was grooving to Abbey Road the other night)

Kind of Blue (not because I hate it...in fact, I really love it...but it has no place in a rock/pop list)

Brian

I know the top five, but only four of the others.

I'll vote randomly for ones I don't know. Also, I pronounce a vendetta against the man or woman who voted against Abbey Road.

Shocking...utterly shocking. I've always thought you were one of the most intelligent, and coolest, under twenty-year-olds I'd ever encountered. That's all changed. I realize now you're just another disgusting and perverted adolescent who needs to grow up.

;D :D ;D

Seriously, you need to listen again... and again. London Calling may be the greatest album ever. Time will tell.

No, you have to buy or steal all the albums you have not heard yet and listen to them before you can vote.  :P

I'm flattered... and crushed. :D I should give it another shot, it has been a few years since I last heard it.

Even so, I wouldn't be too heartbroken if I never heard "Rock the Casbah" again. (I know, different album) ;D

Different album, even tighter than London Calling.  Maybe you had to be there.  (I don't think you had even been born yet.  :-\ )

Where it should be...buried beneath tons of excrement.

Disclaimer: I hate prog rock. YMMV.

Agree. If the music does not fit, we must acquit. ;)
