Can we get back to discussing my theory that M and Gurn are one and the same?

...this is probably a brilliant reference, that somehow ties into Marie Antoinette, but I have no idea of the context... ???

Al vostro servizio!

Just another one-liner for the hell of it.

But if I shrink my browser enough this is a two-liner...

Not from firsthand knowledge, but if your "browser" shrinks too much, you might want to try Viagra...

Hint: think about names and surnames.

No, I just have to move the scroll bar back and forth a few times.  :-X >:D

Hadn't thought about it before, but if Tony objects to one-line posts, too bad.

In that context, a two-liner can still save the day, whereas a one-liner will simply not do  :-X :D

You must spew at least a whole paragraph.

Karl, I used to take issue with your one-liners too.  Nothing drove me up the wall faster than when I was having a discussion and you or whoever would inject a one-liner post.  But that was my fault, because I had this strange idea that this site was supposed to be like an academic discussion in which each of our posts are carefully constructed arguments.  That just isn't reality, though.   The reality is that this is a Internet discussion forum, an entirely different beast that requires its own set of rules and runs in its own organic way.  I've found that there is no reason to be so serious here that we can't have a little fun as we debate topics, many of which can get heated.  This isn't a dissertation, and lets face it, in a few years no one will be reading anything written here today.

Agreed. I used to take considerable care to construct "carefully constructed arguments," and then it gradually dawned on me that they never persuaded anybody of anything anyway. And since at least one previous CM forum has gone up in smoke without my having a chance to preserve any of my carefully constructed arguments, I finally decided making such efforts was pointless.

Instead of carefully constructing a carefully-constructed argument, you could just use the phrase: "You're crazy!" Saves lots of time and effort.

Maybe sforzando means, going up in smoke ? . . .
