She was with me down at the pub. We were planning the Big Revolution. There were witnesses. Revolving ones.

Can anybody identify what accent the farmer is using? I haven't heard it before.

It's very small/bandwidth friendly.

I think he's going for a New England effect.  If you ever watched Murder, She Wrote, you would have heard this a lot.

MN Dave

He's going for a Maine accent. That's from Stephen King's PET SEMETARY.

Specifically, it sounds like it's supposed to be a Maine accent (the ah-yup gives it away), but like most affected accents in movies, it's a bit overdone. "Murder She Wrote" did take place in Maine, but there is a wide variation in accents throughout New England.

Thanks, everyone.

Dave: indeed, I made the clip - watching it at my PC atm. I can't seem to ever just sit down and watch a film so it's so far taken 3 hours and billions of little pauses just to get a third of the way in ::)

I just had someone from the Orlando Philharmonic call me about subscribing to a season. Even though it's pretty cheap, I don't have enough money to... BUT, I thought it was cool and kind of surreal hearing an actual person say "Mahler's second symphony, the Resurrection..."

You know, a real person saying that. Out loud. Wow.  :o

i think I should uninstall Finale Notepad.  Get rid of the delusions that I can be a good composer :D  (especially only finishing two pieces ((that are, at best, mediocre))

Well, the first pieces of the greats were probably mediocre as well.  8)

Looks like I have a programming contract today... if I can do a few things by 30 days from now, I'll get paid $250 (and I'll be working at home). If I can do this and do whatever else next reasonably well, I have a chance at being hired as an official programmer eventually. I just have to learn some KML at the moment, but it looks pretty simple- and the stuff I'm doing is pretty cool.  8)

The Decision

So, LeBron James is heading to Miami.

Well, that's his choice.  Just seems wrong the way he about it, making a big show, and dragging it out like that.  I feel sorry for the Cleveland fans.

Is Dwayne Wade staying? (I thought he was a free agent)

Yes, James, Wade and Bosh (I'm a Raptors fan) are all in Miami now.

greg

Looks like I'll have to become a Heat fan, then!  :)

Ha! You know, that may very well have been someone I work with! :D We have a couple people who work for Orlando Phil. Do you remember the person's name?

Let's just hope the Cleveland Orchestra doesn't follow LeBron. There were rumors.

the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Lol cool  :D
Nah, I don't remember the name. Just that it was some lady.

She also says it "Mahler's second symphony, the Resurrection" every time — and pronounces Chopin "Cho (like Margaret Cho)-pen". Drives me insane.

greg

Yeah, that would be her.  :D
So, is it some place where you all work together? Or have you talked to her/heard her talk through the phone?
