QuoteSpiral galaxies are inherently interesting. Something about their beauty is so enticing... but when you look at them more carefully, the science and physics behind them is terrifically compelling. And when you use different eyes — say, radio telescopes — then you see something different entirely:

This shows two views of the lovely face-on spiral galaxy NGC 6946. On the left is a visible light image, and on the right is the radio view, taken by the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope (taken over the course of 192 hours). Amazingly, these two images are to the same scale!

Rest of the post can be found here.

So MusicWeb just sent out their listserv asking who wants to review what CD, and one of them is this.

A Hummel tattoo... that's badass! :)

Lethevich

+ Schumann on the other arm. Rather heavy looking work, but the sentiment is a pleasant change :)

I hope you had the good sense to say "I do!". :)  If you're gonna look like that, you better be able to play. :)

A Nepomuk Ho. Don't see them around too much these days. Hopefully, Brian will fill us in on the ins and outs, so to speak. That disk was probably on its way to him before he even posted it. :D

I've finally finished reripping my cd collection into flac!!  It's done!!  My modest collection comes out to about 220 GBs.  Still alot of work.  For once I can pity those with large (>10,000 cds, lps) collections that want to rip their collection.  What a lot of work that would be.  As it is I've basically done this project twice since I did it in mp3 and then changed my mind and wanted lossless. :)

Re Daria - after the initial wow factor, I think the only lasting effect seeing that CD cover would be a lower opinion of Hummel :(

. . . a lower opinion of Hummel :(

Is that medically possible? ; )
