When do I get to go to another world...? I want to be in a different one...

Listening to my tuner in my big rig, and Massive Attack's Angel came on.  Conservatively, there's a 12 dB drop in sub-50 Hz bass energy.  I do enjoy me some radio, but come on.  (And this is on one of the better sounding local stations.)

You must find your own way. Let us know how that works out.  :)

For now, video games... for late 2014/early 2015, video games with the Oculus Rift.  ;)

The only really exciting things to explore in this world is stuff that is unaffordable. I'd love to go to Paris, Rome, Tokyo, etc. but who has the time/money for that? America is too far away from the interesting stuff.

I'm enrolled in classes for UCF now and it looks like I will have a really good chance at financially being able to quit my job at the end of this year. Can't wait for the worst 6 (by then, 7) years of my life to be over...  8)

Only if he was holding this instead of the guitar.

Those must have been extremely heavy guitars, if each one required two men to hold it.

Just being in the lumber department in Lowe's makes me think this.

I've always had this sort of dissatisfaction with the world in general; when I was in middle school and high school, for example, I often fantasized about going to the Digital World (the other world in Digimon). And then I'd be walking around my dirty, nasty school and observing the wannabe thugs with their pants down to their knees...

When I'm in the lumber department at Lowe's and I think about an anime such as K-On! (not saying it's a great show, but I like it), the contrast reminds me of the scene at the end of Requiem for a Dream where the black guy is in his prison cell about to do some slave, ahem, "prison" work and is thinking back of when he was a child and at home with his mom. Very cathartic.

Not sure if pictures would help, but...

Anyone that have had similar thoughts...? I'd imagine this sentiment is quite rare, though, and is one of the things that makes me feel like an alien to society in general...

Never wish your life away, Greg. There is a reason for the monotony. Out of the darkest tunnel there is a light. Good luck to you buddy! 8)

Turns out that, as sung by The Beach Boys, huarache sandals is a bilingual redundancy, like "Mt Fujiyama."

So if one takes around 1.52 mg/kg of hydrogen cyanide and survives, one should consider becoming a pro wrestler, right? (don't try it, though - there's a 50% chance that you'll die..)

Hey, Greg, that's an awesome idea! Why don't we go create our own universe...
Oh, wait, that is an impossible thing to do. See, we live in this thing called "reality," which is like being force fed shit.  :)

At least Meshuggah understands.

Quote
6. This Spiteful Snake

[Lyrics: Tomas Haake, Music: Marten Hagstrom & Tomas Haake]

Reality - this spiteful snake,
Rearing its ugly head
Venom dripping from its grin
As it tosses yet another obstacle in our way

If given a thousand years to collect,
To process, to portray
- We could never encompass the voracity
Of one single day

Trapping us in its winding,
It's closing malignant cycles
A tightening coil to bind us,
Hold us tight in unforgiving embrace

Its all-engulfing jaws - infinite, boundless
Biting down on the dying flesh of hope
Its fiery breath levelling, dismantling,
Flattening, tearing down the structure of our dreams

Overcome, defeated
Terrified, shivering, mute
Reality is terror - this truth is absolute

Reality - this spiteful snake
- Shedding its smothering veil
- A shroud to asphyxiate,
Exterminate, eradicate
