Played that one yesterday! It's incredible.

Then take it to your island - it's already prepared. ;D

I'm lacking "Das Lied"... 1, 5, 7 are just about mandatory, 9 is very good... only 8 is a dud. (But a good dud, at least.)

Since Boulez offers no fillers like Chailly and Gielen, one might as well wait for the box which will be inevitable (if you can shake off the other copies while they are still catching a fair price)... although it might take a year or two for it to appear.

I love Boulez' Das Lied and am still trying to decide if Haitink/Concertgebouw is its match.  Judging by the number of symphonies in which Boulez is recommended, his may be the only complete Mahler cycle I end up owning.

I gave away all my Boulez Mahler (1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9). I liked them enough to say to someone else, "Here, you should listen to this," but not enough that they were actually the versions I played.

Think I'll listen to it tonight.  Hough and Hummel at their very best.

I wish you'd given them away to me  :)

Which Tennstedt do you like Jay?  I picked up 1 and 4 on the weekend.  1 does very little for me, and while 4 sounded better on a first listen, it lagged behind Szell and HvK/1979 IMO.  There is a recommendation for a live Tennstedt 1st a few pages back though.
