Just for this fabulous disc alone, this box is worth the price of 12,99. Well recorded and performed, its certainly a gem in this box.

Visited Schubert's birth house/museum here in Vienna on Sunday, BTW, which turned out to be just a few blocks from my apartment. It is a small museum, but the house is quite charming. The portrait in my avatar hung there. You could sit in front of it and listen to the 8th symphony, the 14th quartet, or some of the more famous lieder. It wasn't working though. When I asked the caretaker/security guard he said that he had forgotten to turn the system on since I was the first visitor that day. It was about one hour till closing time...

This is a fine disc to have.

Those are my favorite performances of the Schubert works for piano trio.

If you and Don are both saying it's gold, then it's made my list (and anything that can beat a Beaux arts trio interpretation needs to be verified at the least!)
Hardly any of us expects life to be completely fair; but for Eric, it's personal.

Same here. Since I got this a couple of months ago it has always been in or near my cd player. I don't have any more cds from the Gaia Scienza ensemble, though I know they have done a couple more recordings for Winter&Winter -- do you know if are they this good?

Just keep in mind that the performers use period instruments on the Winter & Winter recordings.

I have their recording of the Brahms Piano Quartet and Quintet.  Yes, they are very good.

To my ears the best performance you can get!

To my ears, I find it easy to believe that.

Could have been better with a babe on the cover, though.

Reger: Klaviertrio e-moll op 102 and Klarinettenquintet op 146

Hoppstock-Trio/ Keller-Quartett with Rudolf Gall.

Disc 1 from Da Camera Magmas 23 disc complete Chamber Music.

Fine works, good performances, OK sound from the late 60-ies. Thorough notes. This will be an interesting journey.

Interesting to know Erato! If you thumbs will be up for this set, I will certainly invest in it!

I'm now into disc 3, Cellosonaten Nr. 3 & 4 (opp. 78 & 116), and looking forward to the remaining 23. Good solid and musical performances of some fine works well worth listening to.
