You mean Berg right? Unless you're talking about Stravinsky's Ebony Concerto that's on there.  :)

Brandenburg 7 .... that's a great recording of it.

And I'm shocked to find it is my only recording of it.

Here's one I bought mostly, because I liked the cover and the name Butterworth. Turns out the Butterworth is pretty awesome! The Parry is one I am still less convinced about, but had gotten better over time, so perhaps there is hope yet!

I bought this CD a few years ago and it was a pretty rewarding experience in early 20th century English music.  BTW, William Boughton is now the conductor at the New Haven Symphony, about 40 minutes from my house ...

Martinu: Piano Trios
Haydn: "Tost" Quartets
Dvorak: Piano Trios Nos. 3 & 4

Good morning :) - Some chamber Music to start the day.
The Martinu disc was a first listen. The Haydn is my second pass through these works as one of my latest listening projects is getting to know the Haydn quartets. The Dvorak Trios are a recent purchase - these are very nice I think, and I will be getting more Dvorak chamber music in future :D.

Going through clips of a bunch of German mid-late Romantic composers that I've never listened to. The only one with potential so far is Reinecke...

Roussel – Complete Symphonies

Listened to two different recordings of the Third last night, with score.  The Denève is in many (though not all) ways the better of the two.  The two works this morning from the first decade of the last century are very different to the Third Symphony, of course.  All of it lovely.

This cycle now has the official Hurwitz seal of approval.

What was the other recording of the Third you listened to?

This morning I'm revisiting this set again

"Music at the Reformation"

On second thought I think I have been a bit too harsh before about the necessity of a "complete Tallis" - I wouldn't want to be without this excellent set. The fact that I'm drawn back to have another listening is a good sign. :)
