Well people, I just gave my honest perception about Dave. I can be completely wrong of course, but it's what I wanted to communicate with him about, because he complained about his mental state and I more and more getting to dislike his silly jokes and his new dumb name (his previous was already dumb also). I have done this so I'm content with it.

What you all have to say, your jokes, I don't consider them to be funny, I see it as you guys relieving some pressure.

I thought all funny/creative people were secretly depressed. Or is that just Robin Williams?

I think I'm one of the least depressed people I know but apparently I'm wrong. Ah, well...

The same way paulb (bless his soul!) decided Beethoven is an overrated hack.  You can't expect to make hollandaise sauce if the only ingredient you have is an egg.

One time I watched a girl walk into my university's cafeteria, head over to the salad bar, and mix together the meager mass-produced Sysco ingredients into her own hollandaise sauce. If she didn't have such a nice likable boyfriend, I'd have decided to marry her after that.

Or, we could just be having fun.

Henk, this is the listening thread. Why don't you go to the Diner and start a thread about how depressed I am and we can get to the heart of the matter there.

Or not.
Sounds like fun!   And if not for Forum Bully He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named, I wouldn't know that Pachelbel's Canon in D is really about penguins (thus looping in a tangential reference to the Tim Burton discussion on the movie thread!).

I wonder how Henk has fun. My guess is, he is not this guy.

What kind of chance does that give me? All right: I am the Messiah!

Coincidently, I've been listening to that too today.

Oooh, I'd be tempted, too.  (But beware...too much hollandaise can give you a saggy butt!)

Ok, but then thank me that I initiated it, Karl. Instead I get rather reactions and am hated because I'm out-of-topic again.

I'll risk it - Dave has a sag butt and he seems perfectly happy. Oh wait a minute...

Hey--tomorrow's sample day!  Gorge yourself at Byerly's for free--that'll stave off depression for at least another day, especially if they're ladling out wild rice soup!

Nah, you're not hated, Henk.  (Sounds like the emotional reaction of someone who's depressed!)  We're just having fun and kidding Dave much more than you, since we know he enjoys a joke...even at his own expense!  Isn't being playful much better than hating?  (And none of this has anything to do with being off-topic.)

I don't get out there as often as I used to, but next time we've got to get together, even if only to cross the river and make snide remarks about cheeseheads.
