Only if both of you put your faces on the screen at the same time.

Provided that you stop pounding it, you're always very welcome at our dining table, Karl, you know that!  ;)

And no. 2

I have now returned to the UK after an extended sea crossing on the 'Stena Hollandica' thanks to the gangway being broken down at Harwich (typical!) Anyway, all this fades into insignificance compared with the momentous encounter with the two Johans (Jezetha and Christo) in Leiden. I see that they have already posted some photos and having not reached the digital age yet I must wait a day or two before getting mine back, but hope to post some in a day or two.

I would normally expect to have something to say about 'mad Dutchman', 'CD nutters' 'Havergal Brian maniacs' etc. But the kindness, generosity, good humour and thoughtfulness of Johan and Johan is what stands out for me (and my wife and daughter, who really enjoyed themselves...meeting Jezetha and Christo was a highlight of our visit to Leiden according to my wife Katy). It was really good fun; the first time I have met anyone from the forum (but not the last I hope). As Johan (Jezetha) said, it worked out very well as I had an extended time to talk with him (and then with Johan (Christo) before meeting my wife and daughter at Leiden Town Hall and Donatello's restaurant respectively. We then, pretty much (but not entirely) steered clear of Havergal Brian, Miaskovsky etc for the rest of the evening but found much else to discuss.

So thanks once again to my two Dutch hosts for such a great evening!

The pleasure is wholly mutual. It proves that if a poster is 'himself' in real life and online, you simply pick up the conversation face-to-face where you left it on the computer screen...

Where are the pictures of this pivotal meeting I wonder? ;D

Here, at last, are some of my photos of the famous meeting of the so-called Braga Santos experts in a Leiden bar, just over a week ago. Left to right Johan (Jezetha), Jeffrey (vandermolen), Johan (Christo). Happy memories of a great evening:

Christo looks much more like the illicit love child of Groucho Marx and Peter O'Toole than I imagined  ;D

Putting real-life images up only confuses things. I'd rather picture you as your avatar.

When I read your posts I see your face, Dave, not Chopin's...

Glad to see that your initial meeting was in a bar and not in one of those infamous Dutch 'coffee shops' ;D ;D

Yes, it was all quite proper. (We bought our cannabis on the street.)
