Believe it or not, but...

...except the delusion and the dedications, me too. The last opus on my list (I still have it somewhere at my parents´ home) is a Symphony in 4 movements: I- Death, II-Death, III-Death, IV-Life. Now, why on earth a 14-year Romanian boy in the 80s of the last century would have composed such a thing beats me; it must have been right after listening to Mahler´s 9th with Vaclav Neuman and the Czech PO ((a gift from one of my father´s best friends)...

For contrast, you could have written an interlude like IIa - Half Alive, or IIIa - Near Death. It's only a list, after all.

So there are forum members who have met face-to-face in a brothel?

Where do you think it was we met on your last trip to NYC, Karl?

You do know what being an introvert, intellectually inclined, classical-music-lover teenager mean, don´t you? It´s all or nothing all the way...  ;D

Well, all right, I did wonder about all the conflicting perfumes.

;D ;D ;D ;D this is terrific!

I had a list too, although in many cases the music was polite enough to pop into my head once or twice before I decided how great the idea was. At age 13, the orchestra-in-my-head and I mentally composed/performed a piano concerto in the style of Mozart/Beethoven every single day while waiting for the school bus. What was the secret? you might ask. Chaotic disorganization! After 5 minutes, I couldn't remember the opening tune anymore, so I'd just wedge in a new, equally forgettable tune. But I did have the good sense to know where to put a cadenza, that the first movement should be 15 minutes, and things like that.

Sounds like Henning´s Headquarters...  ;D

Every once in a while I dream a symphony or a piano concerto... I mean, in full --- I hear all of it while dreaming.  :D

What about this:

I. Before Life
II. First Commentary on Death
III. Life, 1st Version
IV. Second Commentary on Death
V. Death
VI. After Life
VII. Third Commentary on Death
VIII. Life Again
Beethoven's Op. 133 -- A fugue so bad that even Beethoven himself called it "Grosse".

Are we talking about death literally or with its symbolic connotations?

You must have had a long wait for the bus . . . .
For some dumb reason, the school I attended in 8th grade ended at a certain time, but the buses started loading 30 minutes later, so yes, for a half-hour each day (I think 3:15 to 3:45?) we all had to sit in the band practice hall, doing homework, patiently waiting for the buses to load us up.

Indeed, to have had time each day and at such an age for such mighty bursts of creative energy.

For those that might be interested, I am moving to Chicago next month.  Anyone in the area that would like to give me a tour of the museums and/or a concert?

Yeah, me! Please get in touch. Why are you moving here, just when the bad weather is about to start?

Haven't been there in about six years, but I wouldn't mind seeing the Art Institute again if I ever go back (as well as Brett and Scott).

I actually have an Art Institute membership which allows me to bring in up to 3 guests for free (it's about to expire, but I will renew it). Something to bear in mind.

Sure will. There are just the little matters of air fare, hotel, and food not covered by your membership.
