I recently read about zombie fires:  a new-to-me phenomenon.  From what I understand, these are forest fires that still burn even during the winter which occur in arctic areas that have peat under the snow and so keep the fires going.  They basically smolder over the winter, but then reignite once the snows have melted in the spring (some of them go out on their own during the course of the winter).  Droughts obviously exacerbate the situation.  I feel for Canada.

Better headline than a lot of them.  Many of the headlines imply that it was a suspicious death at the hands of Boeing when (a) he already gave his testimony and (b) it was already known that it was most likely a suicide.

The thing is to see if this compounds Boeing's current stock price woes.  Most likely not (institutional investors tend not to care about such events), but if it does, it could make for a decent buying opportunity since Boeing is one of the most critical defense contractors and ain't going nowhere.

Not sure why this story about goings-on in Montana is getting coverage in the British press.  Irrespective of one's outlook on knowingly introducing invasive species (bad) or breeding animals for private hunts (perfectly fine), prison time seems a bit much.  All of that fades into insignificance when one thinks of the size of the mutton chops potentially available here.
