I don't know what "conservative philosophies" you are referring to but joining up government bureaucracies to disentangle messes that government regulations and meddling probably made in the first place is not the independent, self-sufficient mindset of those who hold traditional values. The Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae (what names!) interventions caused the disaster of 2008. It is not the free market anymore or anything resembling what you might call "conservative philosophies". Better to keep the government out, WAY OUT.

Lyndon Johnson's "War on Poverty" in the 60's, didn't eradicate but perpetuated it.

This is precisely the nonsense that I am talking about.

We are perfectly willing to concede that liberal policies do not always work.  Sometimes they do, sometimes they do not.  How easy conservatives forget Johnson was a hawk over the Viet Nam War.

But conservative's refusal to acknowledge where their policies have failed is arrogance that makes it impossible to have an intelligent discussion.  I believe that they know what they are but do not have the guts to admit it.  Conservative know perfectly well that the last time they had complete control of the government was from 2001 through 2007.  At the end of that period we had the worst deficit in the history of this country, we were involved in two unwinnable wars and we had a banking crises that almost destroyed our economy.  But of course all of those were caused by excessive taxation and excessive government regulation of the banking industry.

The Bushes are in a category by themselves. They are not conservatives but predators and autocrats.  None of them support the present government. I spent one summer reading up on that family which goes all the way back to war profiteering with Preston Bush in WWI. Too bad he evaded prosecution from Congress in the 1920's. That would have clipped that family's wings. Look up the secretive "Skull and Bones" Society at Yale. Three generations of Bushes were members. War profiteering didn't stop with Gramps, it became a family tradition:

Cheney's Halliburton Made $39.5 Billion on Iraq War. ..."Ten contractors received 52 percent of the funds" according to an analysis by the Financial Times.

Useless, unwinnable and horrendously expensive wars are not a part of "conservative philosophy". Kennedy wanted to get out of Vietnam. What a coincidence that after he was knocked off, the war bled on!

Again, it is misleading to think that the US is divided by party lines. Frequently interests converge on both sides, making it financially profitable for Dems and Repubs alike to line their own pockets.

Because blacks are being accepted to colleges in order to change the cycle of poverty, resulted from slavery, you feel victimized. because we elected a black president (this was a real blow) you feel victimized.

*Please note that when Black is used as a race designation, it is usually capitalized. This is only one indication of your own intricately disguised (to yourself) prejudice and contempt, but not to others with a good BS detector.

Lame. And you didn't answer my question: What would a Republican have to do to be ridiculous in your eyes?

meanwhile:

Unmasking Antifa Act' includes 15-year prison term proposal

"The "Unmasking Antifa Act of 2018," legislation introduced in the House, carries a potential 15-year prison sentence for those caught engaging in behaviors typically associated with the "antifa" movement of anti-fascist activists.

Under the act, anyone "wearing a mask" or in disguise who "injures, oppresses, threatens, or intimidates any person ... in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege" would be subject to a fine or up to 15 years in prison."

I already answered that question in connection with the Bushes. All George Dubya needed to do was open his mouth to be outed as a fool. I don't care about Republicans per se, only about principles. Sen. John McCain is supposed to be a Republican but it would be better not to discuss his perfidy here.

Antifa got away with a lot of property damage plus attacks on bystanders.  There shouldn't be special rules for any groups except thugs when they act like thugs.

Wrong, wrong, wrong! Sarah DID take responsbility for her parental choices.

Some people are well read. Educated.
That is, they memorize things that others have unearthed.
They seldom make good connections. Seldom understand how things relate unless taught.

Then there are intelligent people. People who unearth new ideas and make connections through reason.
People who see something and need to understand how and why.
These are the people that the readers and educated later learn from.

Then you have the dolts. (people like Sarah) Not a reader, not educated and worst of all, zero intellectual curiosity.

You figure out why I posted this and how it pertains to you.

Have a good day.

I actually feel bad after reading your posts. Honest.

A few weeks ago I decided that anyone that was still a TRump supporter was a traitor and an enemy of the state.

Though you I have learned about myself. I am much to empathetic. I can't condemn you. Instead, I just feel sorry for you.

You posts suggest a powerlessness to see truth. So needy, compelled by self to bastard fact.
Unable to acknowledge connections to preserve sense of self.
A true "Palin"  attribute.

Much of this post may not be understood but what I am saying is that I understand and as such I understand the limitations inherent in your posts and I am compelled by nature to be kind.

Enjoy your day.

I disagree with a great deal of what zb has posted on this thread.  Indeed, several times she has posted what I think is plain, demonstrable nonsense.

But the personal attacks upon zb are inexcusable.  Address the points, do not attack the person—or you're no better than El Tupé and his numerous enablers, yourself.

In the first place, you undercut whatever point you have, by behaving in a scoundrelly manner.

In the second, your behavior is emotionally motivated—so your behavior in effect reinforces zb in her mistaken, equally emotional, views.

It helps everybody, and will raise the tone of this thread, if you treat zb with personal respect, and address the point.

A responsible adult does not allow themselves to get knocked up at 45 because they understand the ramifications.

I guess taking personal responsibility is not something many endorse.

Fair enough. I changed my 3 posts from this morning. They speak strictly to the posed not the poster now.

My posts are honest. If anyone is still insulted they can look inward as I only speak to what they post.

To the point, keep in mind that a lot of El Tupé's supporters love him, because they perceive that he "is honest."

The now-justly-disgraced Bill Cosby, in an early comedy routine, related that somebody told him that the benefit of doing cocaine was, 'it intensifies your personality.'  "Intensifues your personality?," Cosby went on.  "What if you're an asshole?"

This is not intellectually possible.

They willfully refuse to acknowledge his dishonesty because his rhetoric, like a cocaine high, brings them pleasure.

Yes, the ramification being the horror of a child with a disability, and now you veer to the same 'personal responsibility' canard that every racist talking about needy children and poor mothers uses

And now you get to pronounce on what age women can elect to have children at, nice.

you do not seem to understand much of anything

And I suppose if 50 year old Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) gives birth to a child with a disability her life will be a failure as well, or is she just merely irresponsible?

Don't patronize me. Take responsibility for your own crapola.
It must be terrible being around a person like you who insults and then tells his victim, "It's your fault you feel hurt. Have a nice day."
Why don't you look up the word "narcissism"?
You might actually learn something.
