     The author believes that Repub failure should be replaced by CATO failure, like this would be an advance. This is called having ideas.

The Cato Institute's Michael Cannon has long called for the creation of large Health Savings Accounts that would dramatically increase the amount of money individuals could put into tax-free accounts for medical expenses, including health insurance, potentially giving millions of people an optional exit from employer-sponsored insurance.
     
    The author is proposing that government subsidy of private plans be replaced by a different subsidy of a different private plan designed to give a different tax break for people to escape something into something. The millions that need health care they can't afford are not the intended beneficiaries, if any, of these revolutionary changes.

     This is the choice, no ideas or horrible stupid ones no one can use to solve the problem.

The bill's author (and other legislators) has been quoted as saying the bill would allow abortion for any health reason, not just serious health issues. In effect, a co-operative doctor could allow any pregnant woman to abort her baby for any reason up to and including the moment of birth.

     I don't like an idea intended to move covered people to different coverage if it ignores the problem that coverage is not universal, the problem that will be solved or the exercise is a distraction. If you want to solve this problem while solving the problem, that's acceptable. It's not a substitute. I made that clear before, now it's clearly clear.

    The point is to introduce the concept of "abortion fraud" on the model of "voter fraud". We don't need reasons and your reasons are the wrong ones.

I find it rather silly that this is depicted as leading to pregnant women getting abortions en masse near the end of their pregnancy if they suddenly decided they want a boy and not a girl, or no child at all, or something. Abortions at that point usually happen for a very good reason, and the legislation would still require the MD, or several, to approve it based on a medical reason connected to the pregnancy. The current legislation similarly allows for an abortion for even a trivial reason if three MDs are willing to write it up as endangering the life of the mother. Most of the MD's in the US who hold scientifically questionable views tend to be against abortion, anyway.
