You're welcome Harry.  Perhaps in the meantime you could enjoy the excerpts?  The CD was cheap, but no idea how expensive the shipping to you might be?

Best wishes,

PD

I already have the Excerpts, my wish to own them all was driven out by what I heard. According to Que, and Traverso, this exceptional musical beauty goes on with disc 2 & 3. 0:)
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

Mieczyslaw Weinberg.

Concertina, opus 42, for Violin and String Orchestra.
Rhapsody on Moldavian Themes, opus 47, No. 3, for Violin and Orchestra.
Symphony No. 10, opus 98 for String Orchestra.

Ewelina Nowicka, Violin.
Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of the Polish Radio, Agnieszka Duczmal & Anna Duczmal Mroz.

This is quite a spectacular disc with pristine performances, solo as well as Orchestra. The second movement of the Concertino fills me with deep emotions. The sound is pretty amazing too. Weinberg is a since long admired composer by me, and this CD affirms my devoted alliance.

Orchestral Works.
Overtüre zu Shakespeare's König Johann.
Sinfonie in F-Dur.
Nachtstück für Groẞes Orchester.
Zwei Scherzi für Orchester.

Sinfonie Orchester Biel Solothurn, Kaspar Zehnder.

This works for me, beautiful melodies, fine rhythm to the performance, and very worthwhile compositions, in the romantic fashion, beautiful clothed.  The sound is very good, and as to the orchestra, no worries, it is up to snuff.

Oh!  I did find one, but don't know whether or not it's above your price-point (It's about $70 USD & shipping).

p.s.  Currently listening to Martinu's String Quartets Nos. 6 and 7 with the Panocha on Supraphon.

Alphons Diepenbrock.

Elektra.
De Vogels.
Marsyas.

Bamberger Symphoniker, Anthony Hermus.

Diepenbrock, a fine Dutch composer, gets his due in this performance. The Bambergers are a favourite orchestra to me, especially their woodwinds create a magic beyond what I ever heard. Hermus delivers in all respects. He may be little known, but his achievements are great.

A bit above the price range, yes, and not a good time to order anything from the States. again, thank you for your effort, it is well appreciated.

Ah, well....what can I say....I like googling (digging around for things).  ;D

TD:  Am quite enjoying Martinu's Concerto da camera (SQ No. 7) though think that I might go down a more *familiar route (trying to house clean/decorate....and not drive myself bananas at the same time.  At least I've put the tree up and decorated it.  ::) ).

*Maybe some Dvorak?

One of the best!

Yes, indeed. I'm starting to warm up to Bax and it's really about time!

I've seen this drawing/painting somewhere.  ;)
The current annihilation of a people on this planet (you know which one it is) is the most documented and at the same time the most preposterously denied. The terror IS REAL more than ever!

That Braga Santos CD is tempting. In fact I will order a copy - it is Christmas!

Very good!
