This sensationally good recording of three underperformed trios:

[asin]B073N1SH83[/asin]

Incidentally, it's today's daily deal on eclassical (a half-price download at $4.49).
"I don't at all mind actively disliking a piece of contemporary music, but in order to feel happy about it I must consciously understand why I dislike it. Otherwise it remains in my mind as unfinished business."

Stürmisch Bewegt

Just enough time to listen to this before dashing out the door.

Leben heißt nicht zu warten, bis der Sturm vorbeizieht, sondern lernen, im Regen zu tanzen.

Fine disc though I wish the Tilson Thomas on DG were reissued with the original coupling.

Oh dear, I almost wasted my time listening to two different Haydn trios that weren't the one.

Albéric Magnard
Symphony 3 in b-flat minor, op. 11
Symphony 4 in c-sharp minor, op. 21

BBC Scottish SO - Jean-Yves Ossonce

The first two symphonies of Magnard are a curious style, and so I look forward to hearing these later two.

I had his first two symphonies on record since the 90's; I'm not sure why they didn't strike me at that time as to not investigate the rest. Just recently bought these last two to fill out the set.

What do you think it's the finest of them all?

Sorry, there are so many (off the top of my head, besides the Berliner Solisten and the Leipziger Qt: Amadeus Qt, Vermeer Qt, Brandis Qt) and I haven't heard them all!

While you wouldn't have heard what I was referring to, listening to anything by Haydn is never a waste of time  ;)
