Absolutely. We'll never hear it all, so there's no need to worry about it.

You don't wear that hat for nothing  :D

Some pieces are a bit harder to digest but I would say, start with the first livres.
If the nut goes open after the "crack"" you surely will appreciate it ,it is very rewarding.

Try this for a start  "Le Loriot"

Thank you for that link; I'll listen to it during lunch (which should be soon, but I want to finish getting my Christmas decorations up and boxes put away).

PD

I enjoyed it.  Thanks!

Hah! Thankfully, there is no right track in classical music.

Love that piece! I can't get enough of Italian composers from that era (1920s/30s/40s)!

Who are they? I am not good at musicology. I would appreciate any recommendations.

Yes nice compositions in the disc.

I'm not listening to the Japanese issue, but it came from this box set:

When I went to rip this set, I used all of the original cover art for each disc.

Nice box set! You keep CDs in your listening room or somewhere else?

bhodges

After lots of Rimsky-Korsakov, I found this fab reading of Tchaikovsky's "Dance of the Buffoons" from his incidental music to his own version of The Snow Maiden.

From January 2014, here are the cool and collected members of the Baltic Sea Youth Philharmonic, conducted by an amusingly sweaty Kristjan Järvi, at the Berlin Philharmonie. Everyone looks like they're having a blast.
