I have the Suk as a digital download initially, because it was so difficult to find, but now I'll have the physical release. As for the Novák, this was a difficult-to-find CD, too.

I imagine you have many Supraphon discs. What are your top 5-6?

Oh dear...that would be an incredibly tough one, but for now, here are five favorites (in no particular order and one per composer):

Dvořák

Smetana

Janáček

Martinů

Novák

^ Thank you, John. I (only) know the first two and love them.
I will check the other three though I am not a big fan of Novak.
I may change my mind.  ;D

I used to not be fond of Novák either until yesterday when I realized the error of my ways. ;) Stunning composer.

I had taken advantage of the recent sale and purchased the Gielen Mahler box from jpc.  It has much more than what I previously had.

I also repurchased the Fischer Haydn set.  For whatever reason I guess I didn't keep the rips that I originally had, because I couldn't find them anywhere.  I'm sure now that I've repurchased the set I'll find a spare external hd with them on it, you know how that goes. :)

I have enjoyed discovering Novák as well. Only Toman and the Wood Nymph has never really done anything for me so far.

Amazon had the Zoltan Kocsis box for the best price (by far) I've seen since its release, so I snapped it up!

So much great music, so little time...

Smart choice! Consistently incredible music-making across every genre!

Lady Godiva is a more satisfactory work in my view.

Hmm. I might have to do some attentive streaming. I mean I've already been using his recordings in my Bartok dabbling.

I agonized over this one since it came out - know/have most of it already. Completeness and space saving were key in my decision  :).

Humperdinck's 2-piano arrangement. Heard it all on Spotify and decided it was worth having.

One of my favourite violinists. Every once in a while JPC sells this 20cd set at a deep discount. I missed it last time around.

Another deeply discounted set from JPC. I've sampled and liked his Beethoven before, and I needed Aus Italien - never had it in my collection.

That's what makes Kocsis so appealing - consistency! Whether it's Bach or Liszt or Bartok, you know it's going to be first-rate.

I'd recommend listening to his Debussy piano music, as well as his Rachmaninov (he recorded a smattering of smaller pieces, the Second Sonata, and all of the Concerti) - it's all excellent!

That set has long intrigued me! Let us know your impressions, André.

The one Mozart concerto album made me wish for more, and the Grieg was a pleasant surprise.

There is more Mozart, on Harmonia Mundi.

Sillescu: Symphony No.1 'Night Lights'
A symphony by a film and video game composer - sounds like my cup of tea!

The Philips has a more engaging orchestral contribution but this one is also worth seeking out. There are two more quintana/harmonia mundi discs, on with K 414 and 488 and one with K 595 and another B flat major but I have not heard them as they have been hard to get for years.

I made my first order from BIS:

Strauss - Oboe Concerto - BIS-2163 SACD
Silvestrov - Symphonies 4 & 5 - BIS-1707 CD
Bartok - Concerto for Orchestra - BIS-2378 SACD
Bruhns - Cantatas & Organ Works 1 - BIS-2271 SACD

15 euros each, shipping 11 euros. Total cost 71 euros.

EDIT: Robert von Bahr himself sent "confirmation" email thanking for registering on BIS Store writing in FINNISH. Attached was a photo of the package containing my order and apologies that post offices close at 4pm. Impressive!  0:)

This package has not arrived yet and it is 2 weeks tomorrow! Easter slowed down things. I am becomming annoyed!

That's a great cycle. You might want to complete it with this:
