Both performances taken from the 1994 Proms and both very fine, though the audience is a bit bronchial. The disc originally came free with BBC Music Magazine.

As a side note, I once received a lovely e-mail from John McLaughlin Williams (the conductor in your video) thanking me for an Amazon review when his John Alden Carpenter Naxos recording came out. We had a lovely discourse around that time. From that exchange, and some other online comments I have seen from him since, he seems a fine gentleman and thoughtful musician.

John McLaughlin Williams is a VERY fine violinist too!  Aside from the American music he has recorded (as conductor) to great effect he is a keen proponent of British music as well.  There is a YouTube video (audio only but with some interesting images/photos along the way) of him playing the Bax violin concerto which is as technically fine and musically insightful as any.  Top-notch musician all round!!

Tesori di Napoli.
Per la Nascita del Verbo.
Teatro religioso nella Napoli barocca, 1650-1700.
Christmas Cantata,
Cristofaro Caresana.
La Caccia del Toro/La Tarantella/La Pastorale.
La Vittoria dell'Infante.

Pastorale sulla Ciaccona.

Bernardo Storace.
Passagagli con Partite pastorali.

Cappella della Pieta de'Turchini, Antonio Florio.

After many years of lying dormant in my collection, it still gives me thrills and goosebumps. La Tarantella is pretty awesome.
Passionate performances, there is no holding back with the singers, they deliver sensual and emotional charged interpretations.
Good but resonant sound, being recorded in a church.

Singphonic Christmas.
Christmas Songs from Europe.

Sweet songs with some quirky intonations and modernisms, but the voices are superb.
A Christmas CD that appeals to many, and me also.

Also an golden oldie in my collection of Christmas Music, cannot remember that I played this recently. Always a surprise if it still does the trick.

The Emmanuel Music recording is good enough to be purchased solo, though the $0.00 download price tag was more appealing yet.  The performances are quite excellent.  Apparently, Emmanuel Music has performed all of Bach's cantatas twice, though not everything was recorded and/or released.  Maybe one day a set will be made available.  Fingers crossed.  (I signed up for the Emmanuel Music newsletter I can't remember how many years ago when I learned that they worked with Russell Sherman, and have been hoping for an archive release, so far to no avail.)

A really excellent CD. Telemann at his best! Fine performances and pristine sound.

Just at the level of "art of modern piano playing" - tone, touch, balance - this is the most impressive Scarlatti CD I can remember hearing. This is one I think @Todd should hear.
