I'm confused now.  Did I quote the wrong posting?  I was referring to the Kamu/Shostakovich one.

PD

p.s.  And how many other CDs did you purchase from your school?  >:D

Sorry PD - I meant that it's not due here until September (coming from the USA I think). I bought 3 or 4 I think.

@vandermolen Ah, o.k.  I was thinking that you had picked it up at your school's sale.

Three or four?  Don't you mean thirty or forty CDs?  Hmmm....I'm not buying it!

Ordered from Amazon UK yesterday, and already delivered in Inverness today:

I have enjoyed the music of Elisabeth Lutyens I have listened to, and wanted to get to know her cantata And Suddenly it's Evening on poems by Salvatore Quasimodo (English translation of Ed è subito sera, a poem I very much liked when I read it some months ago). Of the other composer on this CD, David Bedford, I have no information.

Ormandy's Tchaikovsky is exceptional.

And Aldo Ciccolini's Iberia is very good as well...

Good evening, Andrei!

Ordered from Amazon UK MP sellers for deliver to where I am staying in Scotland (as they will not deliver internationally). All used, dirt cheap:

Mainly for the Protée suite, which I only know in Monteux San Francisco recording (other LP-era versions --including one by Abravanel-- have not been transferred to CD AFAIK).

Some obscure late Milhaud works on his disc.

Not that I am the greatest fan of Koechlin, but the prospect of having his music conducted by the great Roger Désormière is very enticing!
