Jennifer Lee (TOKiMONSTA) was featured on NPR today. Kind of a legend on the West Coast Electronic/Dance scene but I had never heard of her despite the 2018 Grammy nod. Listening to that disc now. Comparisons are odious but her sound does remind me a bit of 90s Moby.

Camarón de la Isla Cada Vez Que Nos Miramos (1970, Philips)

Early flamenco release from singer, José Monje Cruz and his collab with composer/guitarist, Paco de Lucía. Good one.

Thanks for reminding me of this, @ando. Listening again now.

Doesn't seem like seven and a half years ago he died.

I'll See You In My Dreams Soundtrack (Doris Day Sings Gus Kahn)

The 1951 Michael Curtiz film (of the same name) is not one of his best, imo, but the soundtrack is what they used to call dreamy, chiefly due to Day on vocals. Until I heard this collection Day wasn't a particular favorite and Kahn was never on my radar as one of the key Tin Pan Alley composers. Fortunately, TCM keeps it on steady roatation. The tunes lift any dreary afternoon. Spotify Edition

My Amazon Marketplace order made in 9th of September arrived finally from Germany.  :D

Already listened to this:

Steve Roach - Empetus

Now listening to this:

Christmas Blessings - The Narada Christmas Collection Vol. 3

In general I dislike non-classical Christmas music, especially when big pop artists release it in December just to cash in, but when New Age artists do Christmas music, the result seems to be very enjoyable! The "spiritual" and peaceful vibe of New Age music and Christmas goes perfectly together.

The third CD of the order:

Romance - Music for Piano

I have to say, New Age piano music is my cup of tea. Amazing background music!

How about Buddy Guy, Buddy Miles and Jack Bruce from 1969?

I saw Buddy Guy with his own band at the Fillmore East in 1969.

I saw the Tony Williams Lifetime in 1970 at some theater in Westchester. It was this lineup and the first time I saw McLaughlin. My brother and I were laughing at how weird everything was.

Interesting!  I wonder how they can figure out the proper pronunciations though?

Been thinking a lot recently about the film Latcho Drom, a "documentary" about the journey of the Romani peoples from India to Spain through Europe and North Africa, "told" entirely through music performances in real world situations in different countries. And hearing the soundtrack has whetted my appetite further. Haven't seen it since it first csame out in the early 90s.
