In his case, logical.
Coffee stimulates urination (and for some people defecation).
Caffeine can overstimulate heart rate and blood pressure.
Decaf coffee does one but not the other.

But for myself, I don't drink decaf. Usually one cup at breakfast is all I drink, then black tea lunch/midday, herbal tea from afternoon on.

I guess, if the cow is eating grass, that could count as a vegetable...sort of....  :D

I think I would just switch to herbal tea at that point!

I went through brutal caffeine withdrawal when I went into surgery back in Oklahoma.  No food, no drink.  That was as bad as recovering from the surgery itself!

Way back, the English meat was used simply for "food."

Hard-core coffee fanciers won't think so, but I find that decaf coffee tastes very good. I do drink herbal tea, too: like the Beach Boys song: "Good Hydration."

The quips in his messages are a good sign.

PS some decaf is quite good, it's all a question of finding the right brand. My workplace has not...

I can only say that if there IS a drinkable decaf, I haven't been blessed with a sample yet. 😕🤠

And so say all of us! And Decaf is treated in such a way to get the caffeine out, that it is actually very unhealthy, (which is proven) and that's not a joke. Better stick to Arabica beans of good quality. :) If I do not get at least three expresso's in the morning I could not lift one finger.
I've always had great respect for Paddington because he is amusingly English and a eccentric bear He is a great British institution and emits great wisdom with every growl. Of course I have Paddington at home, he is a member of the family, sure he is from the moment he was born. We have adopted him.

Looks like I'll be getting out of the hospital this evening. A lot of recovery and aftercare, but I think I've got some good doctors now.

Different hospital, of course, but in my experience, decaffeination isn't the heart of the problem with hospital coffee....

He re-appeared at TC a few days ago after almost one years break. At the same time he deleted his account at GMG, so I don't think he will come back to us. He may have had some controversy with some GMG members - I don't know.

I remember a conflict with a GMG member who subsequently flounced off, deleting all of his own posts to the forum. Unfortunate that Alegreto has gone.

Yes, I'm sorry to hear that. I had some nice contact with him and appreciated his posts.
