    I'm trolling financial advisors on YT. The game they play is a kind of dummy trap. We can call it "won't end well". If you disagree you are a credulous fool, because implicitly you think no recession will come. The real counter to the "well/not well" fake dichotomy is not how an economy ends. It's how it doesn't.

It's true that bull and bear markets follow each other, though I wouldn't call that a profound insight. What's a little more insightful is recognizing the through line tilts up. All long term investors know this. For some reason the message doesn't get through the miasma of doom promulgated by people seeking to profit from churning the portfolios of their willing acolytes.

    The through line could be from high to high, or low to low, or midpoint to midpoint over several decades. The deep low of 2009 took the S&P back to 1995 levels. The next low of any significance was during Covid lockdown and reversed quicker than any other in history. History tells me that a recession will take us down more the next time, if not deeper then longer. Fiscal support over the next few years will be fairly strong, a tough hurdle for recessionistas pining for misery.

     I bought QCOM and TSM instead of AMD. Still, AMD isn't entirely off my screen. I'd need to sell something, and since I don't like doing that I might have to use an "evil" filter. The way that works is you have a stock that strikes you as more than averagely evil, with the criteria being fairly unimportant. It's just a decider switch and nothing more.

     Example: I have shares in KKR. There was a TV movie (Barbarians At The Gate) that depicted KKR in a negative light. The details don't matter. Henry Kravis might be a capitalist saint. What matters is it decides something, which is selling a stock. That's all there is to it.

How did that help?  Did you delete a bunch of stuff and/or create a VPN or something else...change providers?  Just wondering how and what you did could effect things....also if it might be temporary---not much of a computer "geek" here.

    The only change is the new profile. I didn't change the profile on the other browser so I should test that. one.

     Just for kicks I took a .dsf file from DSOTM (SACD) and converted it to.flac and it produced a 24/96 file. There's no bitrate/sample rate option in the dBpoweramp flac encoder, so I did .wav instead and chose 24/88.2 and then I flacced that one and got a 24/88.2 flac file. What I could do is get rid of most of the quantization noise with, say, a 24/48 encode.

Yesterday I decided that I would fix missing artwork in my music library (as it appears in the BluOS app).  I did some research and found that the problem happens if the images are too large.  So I used mp3tag and dutifully made a ton of changes, re-copied the files, re-indexed... and ... and...

I discovered that I could have just hit the option "optimize artwork" and then reindexed.

Ugh technology... makes me want to just stick with cds.

    Having file/foldered my entire collection complete with tags 'n art I can't imagine ever going back to playing discs, even if I went out and bought a player for some purpose.

I'm trying to find my mood by which to live and that is formed by and that accompanies:

- Varied music listening. Keep the mood and energy level up. Some contemporary classical music surely is needed.
- Some social media, like GMG, but never going back to 'X'
- Some philosophical books I need to read
- Keeping my house orderly
- Spending time to garden
- Caring for my (mental) health: mental health is quite an extensive thing for me.
- Read some literature daily before going to sleep
- Painting

I don't need much life-style, it's too complicated, just finding a mood or taste of living that endures. A bit of lifestyle is needed and contributes. What this mood exactly is, is difficult to explain, it's something existential and personal. I want it stable and positive.

My issue was specific to bluos.  I don't know what you are playing your music on.  Sometimes the image has to be file in the folder, sometimes written in the tags themselves.  It depends on what you are playing your music on.

The frustrating thing was that all the art was there on both files and in the tags.  It was just file size restrictions, and the frustrating part was that if I reindexed it, the device thought the files weren't new (since the name was the same) and so I had to completely factory reset my node each time!

One must be really lucky (or experienced and know the technology and software) to get the expected results. I've tried to retag files, but my mp3-player does certain things with my files, I gave up comprehending, so it ends up being a mess again. Also the display is too small and the letters move too slowly, so you need to be really patient if you want to read for example the track title and it breaks off after a certain characters.
I'm already lucky that the display shows the album cover from music I download from bandcamp. Some security suffices for me, it doesn't need to be perfect for me.
