not sure who the soloist is

Casadesus?
You must have a very good opinion of yourself to write a symphony - John Ireland.

I opened the door people rushed through and I was left holding the knob - Bo Diddley.

Rameau, Jean-Philippe (1683-1764) - Keyboard Works the last few days; Esfahani and Yates on harpsichords, and Meyer on piano (mid-1950s recordings!) - I've owned Yates the longest and have her doing other composers (guess a fav); Esfahani a newer addition.  Meyer is special with her touch on the piano, i.e. the music sounds a lot more modern (really worth a listen) - reviews attached for the interested.  Dave

Schütz

Symphoniae Sacrae II

part I-XII

Again I note how nice this set is with the works of Schütz. No heavy sounds from the  Abendland but translucent with an Italian sun.
