Perhaps he meant the Jewish year. In which case he merely needs to hold off for 15 days.

Well, I ended up cancelling this order. I think I'll wait after the holidays to make another order. Hopefully, these recordings will still be in-print. Although, I might end up getting the Hindemith/Schnittke ECM recording, because I love this particular repertoire and, in particular, the ECM sound.

I believe she was the one who conducted that 2020 Salzburg Fest Cosi that I watched the other night.

I didn't see that coming, not at all.  ;D

It sounds like it was for the best.  ;D

I'll definitely purchase these three Giorgini discs at some point, but I don't want to overload myself with purchases this time around.

Le Buisson Ardent

Okay, I left these two discs intact and are on the way:

Well, I'll have to cancel my 'like' to the original post then 🤪

Found a cheap 'used, like new' copy. Yeah, me !

Ivan Eröd is a contemporary composer. This will be my first exposure to his music.

I broke my own "rules". But one half of this might take some time to ship anyway.

I love this set! I'll have to check out those Mozart recordings because I like the pianist.

Can't go wrong with Ibragimova on fiddle.

Two albums where I imprinted on the cassette versions but never got around to replacing them with CDs. Until today!

The recordings have been mixed and matched in a variety of permutations over the years, but I ended up sticking with the releases that I already knew.

Some obscure stuff from Melomania in Paris:

The purportedly complete music for solo piano by Albert Roussel, played by Alain Raës. At the very least, this disc contains some pieces not performed by Jean Doyen on the Erato "Albert Roussel Edition".

A pioneering (abridged) recording of the French version of Gluck's Orpheus, conducted in 1935 by Henri Tomasi.

Historic Hindemith, with the composer (as conductor or soloist) in pre-WWII recordings, and Roger Desormière conducting the Violin Concerto (with soloist Henry Merckel) in 1948.

I am clearly in the mood to clean up various things in the "look, I already made my mind up ages ago that I wanted this" category.

I think still having a bank balance after the Spain-Portugal trip has freed me up for these really quite small purchases. Even if too many of them would add up...

EDIT: I just find the phenomenon of collaborative works really interesting, even if the music might not all be my absolute favourite. I know there are some other examples but the French seem to have been particularly keen on this sort of thing for a period in the early 20th century. And between them these albums do a great job of collecting prominent examples. You get little chunks in the complete works of Ravel, or Poulenc, but not the context.
