I wouldn't have pegged Elgar as a minimalist...

It's the series format. All of them--Haydn's Creation, Purcell's King Arthur, Berlioz's Requiem, Britten's War Requiem, I don't remember who else--have that same design.

It's a good recording of the Elgar, btw.

It worked for those four Liverpudlians.

Symphonic Addict

Not sure how others are going to take this cover art, but to me, it displays a total lack of creativity. That Puccini appears four times with a different color, frankly, is not the most imaginative or attractive idea.

The current annihilation of a people on this planet (you know which one it is) is the most documented and at the same time the most preposterously denied.

Madiel

Meh. Not that creative but not awful to look at. And kind of apt for string quartet.
Every single post on the forum is unnecessary. Including the ones that are interesting or useful.

It's more creative than a lot of other cover images. But that is more a mark of how bland some cover images can be than anything else.

It would have been more interesting to feature the four performers instead methinks.

Well lots of people do that, so it certainly isn't that creative. Maybe the performers didn't want that? *shrug*

I don't know about anyone else, but it made me laugh.

Caught mid-argument by the look of it. The mind boggles at the thought of the publicist and photographer huddling over the negatives and choosing this shot.

1st Violinist, Violist, Cellist (loud and angry unison): Just look at him! Who on earth does he take himself for? Michelangeli?
2nd Violinist (sotto voce): Here they go again!... Men!
Pollini (sigh): See what I must put up with?

Oh, dear!  That is certainly not a good shot to promote sales.  :(  If nothing else, why is the female violinist looking down and the expression on her face?
